1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Purse Binge. on: September 04, 2010 09:44:49 AM
So I've had a sewing machine for years, always intimidated me a bit. Anyways, I recently got her out and started making some purses (as I'm still terrified of clothes!). So I started with a McCall's pattern (6045)! What was I thinking?! Well the first one came with a ton of issues, and took me a month, but after trying it again I whipped it up in a good two days. This thing called for 3 different types of interfacing, making my own binding tape. Needless to say I learned so much making this bag.

I next chose a Simplicity pattern (2396), it was such a breeze and fun to make.

A photo with my doggy, she has to be the center of everything!

Well thanks for looking, the goal is to get a lot better at sewing, so C&C's welcome!

2  COOKING / Dessert / Green Tea Cake on: July 06, 2010 12:15:31 PM
I was in the mood to try something new, when I stumbled on this Green Tea Cake recipe, and just new I had to try it! I couldn't find the powdered green tea the recipe called for, so as the review suggested, I attempted to powder my own, however, I don't think I powdered them enough they were still "grainy". But after sitting in the fridge overnight it was delicious!

Oh, and the recipe can be found here.  Grin

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Who needs sleep, when you have Coffee! Stitch on: June 27, 2010 08:15:50 PM
Cross Stitching for some reason always terrified me! One day I felt very courageous and just decided to give it a try, after being inspired by all the wonderful post on this site Grin.
So this is my third and biggest project so far. I found a picture on the internet and opened it up in paint and blocked it out myself (hence there isn't any shading, lol). Now on to the hard part, the framing!!

Thanks for looking!

Edit:

Finally in a frame!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Dressforms... on: May 17, 2008 04:11:17 PM
Hi All!  I'm looking into getting a dressform.  From the sizes posted I may need a Petite size for the bust, but I'm concerned about the Neck to Waist sizes.  Anyways... I've heard mixed reviews about some of them, so I guess my question is... Do you own a dressform? If so, what brand/type, and how do you like it?  And how do the measurements work out for you?

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Manly Ring on: April 25, 2008 04:38:20 PM
Hi All, I've been crafting for a while now, however I'm stumped on this one.  My fathers birthday is coming up and he insists I shouldn't buy him anything.  I wanted to make a maltese cross ring of sorts.  Jewelry has never been my thing and manly jewelry is a bit scary!! Any ideas/tips would be appreciated.
