1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Result of my Blackwork addiction on: August 15, 2008 10:35:24 PM
My great aunt kindly bought me this blackwork pattern at a knitting and needlework shop, and I've finally completed it!

I wasn't sure about the beads, but they add some nice sparkle.

Hope you enjoy!  Smiley

I actually made these a while ago, but I'm still quite proud of them!  They are both from the Leisure Arts book "Teach yourself to Embroider,"  which (surprise!) taught me how to embroider!

This bookmark is my favorite thing I've embroidered to date:

This is a needlebook with my favorite flowers:

Have fun!
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Blackwork...gone too far on: February 21, 2008 11:05:02 AM
I just started my second ever blackwork project, and it was going fine until I found that I went just a few threads too far.  The mistake is almost right where I started, and since I'm doing double running stitch, I got pretty far without noticing.  I really wish I could just click the undo button like on the computer.  Does anyone have suggestions for fixing mistakes in blackwork or just counted thread type things? Do I have to take the whole thing out and start over?
