1  Re: Make Movie Buddy Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by elisegreene on: September 18, 2008 12:57:21 PM
Ahhhh!! I'm so happy with this swap. I received an awesome package from Sugaree today!
The movie: The Big Lebowski
Group shot:

Sugaree is so creative and clever!  The tape pouch:

It says "Venice Beach League Playoffs 1987" on one side and "Creedence" on the other.  The case for it has a "playlist" made up of quotes from the movie, and the last one points to the scene in the movie the tape is from: it's the tape that was in his car that gets stolen, ha! Love it!
Inside the tape case were these magnets:

These are so perfect for the movie! My favorite (though I can't decide, really) says "Little Lebowski Urban Acheiver"

Sugaree wins, this was such a great swap and a perfect package, thank you!  Grin

2  Re: Result of my Blackwork addiction in Needlework: Completed Projects by elisegreene on: August 17, 2008 11:32:32 AM
Aw! Thanks everyone! I was considering framing it, but I've never framed embroidery, so I'll have to look up how to do that.  Blackwork is not that hard, if you can follow a chart.  I liked having the chart actually because it made it very systematic and so something I could do without too much thought, like while watching movies  Tongue
If anyone is interested, I found some free blackwork charts at rainbowgallery.com
I did this from there as my first attempt at blackwork:

3  Result of my Blackwork addiction in Needlework: Completed Projects by elisegreene on: August 15, 2008 10:35:24 PM
My great aunt kindly bought me this blackwork pattern at a knitting and needlework shop, and I've finally completed it!

I wasn't sure about the beads, but they add some nice sparkle.

Hope you enjoy!  Smiley

Well patience has paid off as I just received some great loot from amyracinrose!! *dance dance*

Here is a group shot:

I'm quite impressed with her embroidery skills! I have a mechanical yeti in game that I made with engineering, and she sensed my love of it, hehe. close-up:

The medium and small parts are a nifty little pouch with the horde symbol embroidered, and shiny magnets, respectively.

Thank you soo much amyracinrose!  Grin

5  Ready for Spring break! in Needlework: Completed Projects by elisegreene on: March 23, 2008 03:08:31 PM
I actually made these a while ago, but I'm still quite proud of them!  They are both from the Leisure Arts book "Teach yourself to Embroider,"  which (surprise!) taught me how to embroider!

This bookmark is my favorite thing I've embroidered to date:

This is a needlebook with my favorite flowers:

Have fun!
