Hi guys!

I've decided to crochet this little missy for my sister, 6 yrs, for x-mas (early, I know), but I'm not sure what to do about the dress. Should I crochet it separately or somehow into/onto the body?

I've only done a few amigurumis before, and I want this to turn out right - so what do you think?

Direction... or rather... read this and then swing it to fit your own head.

So, I used yarn sts 20-22 and needles 4½.

Since my head is pretty huge, I started with 95 sts on circular needles.

Knit around with black and purl the next 4 with same yarn.
Switch yarn, knit 6 rounds with light/brown yarn.
Knit around with black and purl the next 4 with same yarn.
Switch yarn, knit 6 rounds with light/brown yarn.

Knit this way until 6th black stripe.

Decrease on every 7th stitch on first and last round on next light stripe.
Knit next black stripe.
Decrease on every 5th stitch on first and last round on next light stripe.
Knit next black stripe
Decrease on every 3th stitch on first and last round on next light stripe.
Decrease on every 2nd stitch with black yarn until end.

It makes me happy you guys like it. 

I will do my best to have some kind of direction/pattern up tomorrow lunch.

I made this one yesterday. It's my version of the famous (Swedish?) hat floating around the web.
It's mixed yearns I had stuffed away. The brown is wool, the rest I have no idea what it is.

I just made it up as I went along, if there's someone who'd like some kind of pattern I'm sure I can come up with something. Just remember it was made to fit my huge head.

So, with being unable to sleep and having some spare yarn lying around I ended up with this:





The upper pic makes it look a bit sqeezed, but that's just because the angle of the photo. The lower one is better size-wise.

They are made from two really soft wool yarns, the pink being from the late 80's, if my mom is to be believed. This was just something I made up as I went along. Nothing too fancy and not too hard. For the lace I had to bring out my crochet needle, something I'm not so very good at.
