1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Tie-dye swap! on: October 03, 2010 08:55:36 AM
Buy a pack of t-shirts/socks/underwear/bags and tie-dye them. You keep half and send half that way you have different stuff. Like if I made tie-dye in pink, blue and green and my partner made hers/his in primary colors. I would send half and now would have both colors instead of the just one.

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / glasses case how to? on: April 27, 2009 08:49:01 PM
I just got glasses today..because I got an eye infection..and I tried looking up a tut on how to rip out the fabric stuff covering it and put more appealing fabric on it.  Not so lucky.

There the hard cases that snap shut.. can it be done? if so is there an easy tut for me to follow lol
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Japanese Knot Bag Help on: April 25, 2009 10:20:41 PM
I really love the bag from here:

 http://showyourworkings.wordpress.com/tutorials/japanese-knot-bag-instructions/#comment-3293

but I'm really bad with reading patterns..I need pictures. I got all the way to step four but I don't understand what five means.

Step five:

Slip the outer fabric bag into the lining with the right sides facing, sew the outer fabric and the lining together along the sides of the handles, leave the tops of the handles unsewn. Turn the bag right-side out through the top of one handle.

Sounds simple enough put one piece inside the other facing each other but what does she mean when she says sew the outer fabrics and lining together along sides of handles. How is that possible! lol I know it is possible because there's a whole flicker group of people that have made it but I just don't get it..help would be appreciated Undecided Smiley
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Key Cozy Help on: November 28, 2008 07:45:43 PM
OK so I found this key cozy on the knitting central and the pattern is this:

Materials:
Scrap of fingering-weight yarn.
US Size 1 dpns or a US size 1 40 circular needle if you prefer to work in the round using the magic loop method (recommended for this project).

Special stitches:
M1R: Insert left-hand needle-tip from back to front under stretch of yarn between stitches. Knit through the front of this loop.
M1L: Insert left-hand needle-tip from front to back under stretch of yarn between stitches. Knit through the back of the loop.

CO 10 sts. Join for working in the round.
Rounds 1-4: Knit. 10 sts total.
Round 5: *M1R, K5, rep from * to end. 12 sts total.
Round 6: *K6, M1L, rep from * to end. 14 sts total.
Round 7: *M1R, K7, M1L, rep from * to end. 18 sts total.

Round 8: Knit. 18 sts total.
Round 9: *SKP, K5, K2TOG, rep from * to end. 14 sts total.
Round 10: *K3, YO, K2TOG, K2, rep from * to end. 14 sts total.
Round 11: * SKP, K3, K2TOG, rep from * to end. 10 sts total.
Round 12: Insert key into cozy, long end first. With key in cozy, work as follows: *SKP, K1, K2TOG, rep from * to end. 6 sts total.
Break yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail. Weave tail through rem. sts. Pull tight and tie a knot. Weave in yarn ends.

First off I do not get the special stitches. Second, how do I get from 14 stitches to 18 stitches (round 6-7)when you only increase twice giving you 16? Third, how do you go from 14 stitches to 10 (round 10-11) when you only decrease twice??
