1  purple purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AlexJ on: November 12, 2009 01:53:42 PM
SO...I found and fell in love with this bag...

http://www.buckle.com/product/product_detail.jsp?bmUID=1258061597590&prd=20547D42269&sku=1040670000&Nao=48&N=43+1712

Thinking I could do it not only better but cheaper as well I decided to make it instead. In the end I ended up spending pretty much the same that I could have paid for it, but I love how it turned out.  Smiley

Front...ignore the pizza box  Embarrassed

Front again...with strap

Inside...the most awesome purple shiny calico fabric ever!...I may just have to go back and buy the rest of the bolt

and back...kinda blurry sorry

I had originally wanted to use pleather/vinyl for the back and straps like the original but the I found the stretchy/shiny vinyl-esque in the Halloween fabric clearance and used that instead. I couldn't get a good pic of me wearing it but the strap is kinda long and I may end up shortening it. Overall though I love it!  Cheesy

4  B.A. skull laptop bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AlexJ on: April 16, 2009 08:59:39 PM
so...I'm a big fan of stories so here's a little background for your reading pleasure  Smiley ... Ever since elementary school I've HATED Apple computers with a passion. I swore I would never get one if my life depended on it. This was before my Dell started repeatedly crashing about a month ago. Against my better judgement I went to Apple's website to merely LOOK and compare...suffice to say I kind of fell in love  Wink My shiny new Macbook arrived yesterday and I decided today that it needed a bad ass carrying case. I originally planned on having a fairly plain or geometric type pattern for the outside with a lining fabric with apples on it (Apple...apples get it? haha... lame, I know) but then I saw this awesome skull fabric and a red and black damask-y like fabric and changed my mind. I didn't use a pattern, I just kind of eyeballed it and went for it. I put some fleece interfacing in between layers to give it a little extra padding. It's a little big and roomy but I love how it turned out...and I have enough leftover material for a matching iPod case! yay! Anyway...picture time!
