This is my quilt of the map of the Boston T (subway). The inspiration came from Elizabeth Hartman's Tokyo subway map, but I made mine smaller (1 inch squares) and wanted it of Boston. So I mapped out the squares in excel to match with the Boston T, as much as can be and went for it.
I quilted it in white thread and horizontal lines
The square with the red heart is Andrew Station and where my husband and I used to live.

I asked my mother-in-law and my quilty friend for scraps to use for the squares (as well as my own scraps). There are only a couple of squares where the same fabric is used.
I divided the quilt into 9 large squares, sewed the smaller squares into the 9 large squares, then sewed them together. Each square is 1 inch but because I have little patience with perfectly lining up squares, they are wonky. But I like it.
