Details of swap:
OTT (One Tiny Thing) swaps are based on the idea that you'll be crafting, literally, one tiny item. Tiny refers to the actual size of the item but even though it's small, it should be an item that is crafted with a high level of skill. If it's a simple/easy item for you to craft, try to embellish or perfect it to best represent your skills.

To celebrate October, the OVERALL theme of this swap will be the celebrations in October (Halloween, Samhain, Day of the Dead, Oktoberfest, Autumn in general, etc.)! Your five themes should be related to these.

In this swap, participants will have one partner.  Each partner will make and send out one tiny thing (see below for ideas on what constitutes as a tiny item) based on your five themes.  For example, if one of your themes is orange, your partner could make fancy orange earrings or a tiny orange ornament.  Each tiny thing should measure 4 inches by 4 inches or smaller.  This is a NO-EXTRAs swap. You can only send the item you craft and NOTHING else. If you do send extras, it will be noted in your feedback. This swap is intended to be low-stress.

AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED, you are welcome to post your five themes in this thread. If you see someone's theme list and would like to craft for them, please feel free to PM me and let me know.  I cannot guarantee that you will be partnered with that person BUT I will absolutely take it into consideration during the pairing up.

Communication is important.  Failure to communicate will be reflected in your feedback.
It is your responsibility to:
-PM all of your partners and the organizer as soon as you have sent
-PM all of your partners and the organizer as soon as you have received
-post in this thread!
-post photos of your received chunky houses in the gallery (unless you have agreed with your partners to have them post)

Is your item tiny?
pair of earrings=tiny ---- necklace, earrings and bracelet set=NOT tiny
ATC=tiny ---  8x10 drawing=NOT tiny
change purse=tiny --- clutch purse=NOT tiny
Bottom line: 4"x4" dimensions; if the item "naturally" comes in a pair or a set (ie: earrings, stitch markers), that is okay. If you aren't sure if your idea is considered "tiny", please ask!

My angel came through. She spoiled me and my gerbils rotten. I like everything that was sent. The simple wooden toys are great. The gerbils will love them. The clothespins are so cute! The gerbils will have fun chewing those up. the initials are the first letter of some of my gerbils names. The fabric cozy and tunnels are so cool. Gerbils will like those also. The treat bars will be put to good use.  My angel must have looked on my pininterest. I always wanted some of those fabric sanitary pads. The big paw printed play cowl is cool. The gerbils love to run around and play on me and this would be a cool toy for them to run in and out of. I already tried it on one of my boys. He likes to play his "bonk bonk" game. The homemade gerbil stamp is so cool too!!

Leigh told me that her young daughter helped with the wooden toys. Tell her the gerbils love them. Simple wooden toys are the best for gerbils next to tp rolls.

Details of swap:
This swap is all about our furry, feathered, or scaly friends. You can send pet related items or items for the pets themselves, or a combination of both. You can decorate food/water bowls, collars, make clothes, beds, toys, bags, etc. All pets are welcome. For collars, especially for cats, please buy and then decorate a collar. Use your best judgment when giving any pet a toy. Remember to always supervise pets when theyre playing with toys. Anything can become a choking hazard. Communication is key to this swap. Talk with your partner.  Please talk with your partner often. This is swap will be a little over a month. Plenty of time to craft.

This is usually a 5 point swap but I am going to leave it open and let the partners decide on how much they want to send each other. All pets swaps have been known to spoil. That is why I am leaving the size of the swap to you.

I reserve the right to refuse people based on shaky past feedback. We will start the swap once I get either 24 people or the due date.

27  One Tiny Thing 2012 London Olympics CLOSED - Send by 08/20 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by gerbilgal on: August 02, 2012 01:25:58 PM

Swap name:  One Tiny Thing 2012 London Olympics

Date to send item by:  August 20, 2012

Limited to a certain number of people?  24

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: N/A
- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES/NO
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES/NO
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES/NO
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES/NO
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES/NO
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES/NO

Details of swap:

The idea is to make one tiny Olympics Themed craft item.  It should be physically small (miniatures are encouraged) and should be something that you can craft with a high level of skill.  Even if it is a fairly simple/easy item for you to make, please embellish or perfect it so that it best represents your skill.  (For example, if you wish to make a coin purse, I encourage you to embroider, add beading, or take other steps to make it a really special piece.)

You will receive only one partner.  You may only send that partner ONE tiny craft - "extras" are not allowed in this swap.  All items must be 5"x5" or smaller.  The idea behind this swap is to give you a simple, low-pressure craft swap that won't stress you out or cost a lot to ship. Since it is the Olympics,  I am making this OTT 5 inches or smaller.

How do you know if your idea is "tiny?"  Examples:  A coin purse is tiny; a clutch purse is not.  A pair of earrings is tiny; a necklace, earrings, and bracelet set is not.  A trinket box is tiny; a pencil box is not.  If you're not sure if your idea qualifies as "tiny," ask me!

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, SEND YOUR INFO TO THE ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND DON'T REPLY WITH IT HERE.

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:

Craftster Username:
Email address:
Your real name:
Mailing address:
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of your country?:
Confirm that are at least 16 years old or, if not, that you have moderator approval(YES/NO)

What craft skills can you use to make a good quality tiny item:

What craft skills would you like your tiny item to be made with:

What kind of tiny Olympic thing would you like to receive? (this is just a guideline):

What are your favorite colors / motifs / styles:

Do you have any allergies?

Do you smoke or have pets in your household?

What else would you like to tell your partner?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few other things to follow:

1.   Please post on this thread. A simple I'm in! or whatever will suffice. This is so I'm certain you get all messages.

2.   Please put OTT Olympics in the subject line of all PM's - don't send me a PM with no subject as I might miss it!

3.   A DC# is not required since the packages are very small.  In all cases, save your receipt and be prepared to
show me a copy if there are problems with your package arriving in a timely fashion

4.   Remember send only ONE tiny item, no extras!  It will be noted in your feedback if you don't follow
     the 'rule' and send extras

5.   I'm hoping that no one will send late but, if closer to send out date, you know you are going to be late, you
MUST inform me and your partner.

I got my present from TroubleT today!  She made me a wet bag for my soggy dishlocths. It has already been put to use. Plus she sent me a bunch of tp rolls for the gerbils. Gerbils love to chew up tp rolls. It is their favorite toy. The wet bag was in my pininterest.  Thank you!  Your Thank you card will be in the mail tomorrow.
