131  Knitted Spider Stuffie in Knitting: Completed Projects by gerbilgal on: February 02, 2009 07:55:01 PM
This was my first attempt at knitting a spider. I used a new technique of making a tube using just regular knitting needles. I wasn't too happy with the results. Opinions? Suggestions?

Pattern can be found here:

This is the same person that I found the knitted rat pattern from. I am currently working on a second to see if it come out better. Any better way to attach the legs. Sewing them up with yarn seems a little bulky. My BFsuggested put a couple of fangs on him to turn him into a mite.  Grin

Camelama outdid herself. She hit on my love of gerbils and Star Trek. Lots of pictures. Camelama you can post pictures also.

Here is the what it looked like when I opened:

Squealing with glee with all the tp rolls for the kids!!! and that little package in the middle. What could it be??

May I present Captain Buddy of the USS Gerbil Wheel......

Read the wonderful letter that came with it.....

I don't know how she found out that my real Buddy was one of our favorites. He was over 4 years old when he passed on. Pictures of the real Buddy: http://picasaweb.google.com/gerbilgal/Buddy

I got my package from yardenxanthe today! Look at these goodies. She took advantage of my wist list.

This is everything together:

A handmade card with very tiny shrinkies. All themes from my wists. Wrist warmers. Perfect!! I am cold all the time. And the big item is the huge pouch for my hammie Fred to play in.

Me wearing the wrist warmer. I am taking these to work!

The shrinkies shown is my love of sci-fi and my little gerbil/hamster. Not sure which. From the top left: Star Trek, Doctor Who Tardis, gerbil/hammie and a Dalek from Doctor Who. I love them! They will be cute ornaments for my little tree next Christmas.

Fred is still sleeping right now but my little white rattie is showing off the pouch for you. This is so cool. Fred is definitely coming out tonight and play in it.

If you would like to see what Fred looks like. Here is a link to his picture album:

I got my wonderful cool package from crosswind today. All I say is WOW! She did a fantastic job for a first time swapper. She went a little overboard but I love them.  Here are the pictures:

This is a "tea purse" with gingerbread spice tea. At the left is a cup cooties catcher (lid for mug)

coasters with rodenty note cards.

Rodenty note cards, wonderful mug with spoon, rodent topped knitting needles, lovely yarn (soft!) The tea purse has a little handle.

This is me modeling my new gerbil carrier. My wonderful little gerbil Trixie wanted to model for me. Isn't that so cool!

Isaw this little bag pictured in the book "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" by Joelle Hoverson. The pattern was was very simple to make. It make a wonderful wrapping for anything small like a jewelry box, handcrafted hat or even some yarn. You get two presents instead of one. First pictures is whiles I was making it. The second one is the completed pouch. Yarn used was Vanna's Choice.
