1  Old pillowcase = new apron! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by wjthill on: May 04, 2008 05:15:10 AM
I have this old king size sheet set that's a red paisley.  I decided I would see how many things I could make out of it.  So far I have an apron and a dress for one of my girls...and a LOT of leftover fabric.

2  Knit Wrap Dress for Baby in Knitting: Completed Projects by wjthill on: May 04, 2008 05:10:15 AM
I am VERY prego (due Tuesday), and I just finished my first clothing piece (other than hats and scarfs).  Here it is!  I think that I do make 1 wrong because I ended up with holes...oh well.  Also, it looks like one shoulder is larger than the other but its not.  What do ya think?

4  First painted anything...kids shirt in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by wjthill on: March 17, 2008 11:08:44 AM
I don't know if this is exactly where this post goes but here's what I did...

I was inspired by stenciling (although no stencils were really used in this application) and when playing with my 3 yr old I drew and watercolored this:

Then I copied the picture to an old stained play shirt with a sharpie

and painted.  There was some bleeding because I added water to try and make it look like watercolors but I don't care it was a fun first attempt!

6  Lace Beanie and Mock Scarf/Neck Warmer in Knitting: Completed Projects by wjthill on: February 24, 2008 06:20:28 AM
I made this lace beanie from a Lion Brand pattern using there new Vanna's Choice yarn.  I saw a couple of these neck warmers around craftster so I decided to whip one up!  Both hat and neck warmer took one skein.  Tell me what you think...the color didn't come out very well, its actually a dusty rose.

7  Re: Besotted Scarf KAL anyone??? in Knitalongs by wjthill on: February 24, 2008 06:09:50 AM
I'm FINISHED!!!! Yeahhhh.  I just love the feeling of the last bind off.  Such a sense of accomplishment.  The little one extended the process the other day when she decided she wanted to knit and pulled my needles and some stitches but the project came off without much of a hitch.

I motified the pattern slightly, used size 13 needles, bulky weight yarn, and CO 30 stitches.  Came out about 5.5" wide and 44" long.  I used about 1.5 skeins of Bernat Softee Chunky yarn (each skein 80 g, 134 yards).

9  Toddler Hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by wjthill on: February 18, 2008 06:54:24 AM
My daughter got a lime green jacket as a gift...very different than her very pink wardrobe.  So we needed new accessories!  I created this hat for her.  This is my first hat that I didn't have a pattern for and I love it!

I just finished this scarf this past weekend.  It was a gift for my aunt.  First attempt at cables.  It was so easy!  I love this scarf.
