13  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Edward Gorey Halloween Costume (question and soon to be progress pics) on: September 27, 2008 08:50:00 PM
So for halloween I am going to be an Edward Gorey Drawing from The Curious Sofa
First thing first this story is rather messed up and is not kid friendly I just love the illustrations.

The girl on the left is going to be what I am baseing my costume off of. I am going to make my dress wareble so I can use it post halloween and I am going to make the train detachable. Now I am in chicago so I am thinking about making the train into a capelet to keep me warm and ware opera gloves (leather if I can find them). Now here is my question I think I want to paint myself white so I can do the whole I am a drawing thing and then do my make up in black and white lipstick included. Where can I get white body paint that wont smudge, should I get latex body paint? also any feed back on the idea would be great. I already have a black bob so that goes with the theme.

18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Nylon/Satin Hoddie Jacket on: May 10, 2008 02:33:28 PM
So I wanted to make a jacket that was a bit different from the typical hoodie so I used lime green satin and plaid nylon. My friend Michelle is wearing it and I took all of the pictures.

This was also the first pattern I ever drafted by myself

I did this 24 by 36 (I think) painting of sunglasses that I had laying around. It ended up looking phsycadelic (I dont think I spelled that right) It was not really planned. It is acrylic and I am proud to say I mixed my own black from forest green and magenta.
