What a wonderful party you must have had.  That "smash" cake and the "smasher" looks so fun.  Sorry, couldn't resist she looks like she is so enjoying it.  The work you put into everything looks great.

This has got to be the nicest present for Mother's day.  It is downright personal with the embroidery and sauce you made!!  I think it's wonderful.

Wow. Your first try came out awesome.  You did a great job.  I love the marbled effect in the fondant.

Hope you do make one, sparrowowl.  If I'd had more time to do this one, I would have enjoyed it more...and maybe even done the decorating better.  Don't tell anyone but I didn't even have time to decorate the sides of the cake.  The worst part was getting the marg. into all of those nooks and crannies.

Thank you all again.  I am overwhelmed by your responses.  Thank you.
Some hints that I learned doing this.  Even though I used paint left over from using the paint on a very boring window, I still had loads left over so try to buy very small bottles of paint or be ready to have enough to repopulate the world with butterflies.  A little goes a very long way.  Also I did it in stages. Cut bottles..Had a few, then "tacked" them down..I had room for about 8 "bottles".  Paint the black outline...let dry. cut some more bottles. Next day paint inside of outline...let dry...at this stage friends were driving me nuts by bringing me more bottles....cut out more....when dry I just took them off the bulletin board and cut individual butterflies.  Put more bottles down and outline.  Then cut out the leftover (outside the outline) plastic.  Yes, I made alot of butterflies and have maybe a fourth left.
I tried to take more pictures one for scale and one on an outside window.

Thank you all again.

Thank you all.  I am really looking forward to seeing your take on this.
Don't forget that there is a "negative" or other side to these. They will look different from the side you didn't paint.  Again, I used "liquid" (faux) lead so it looks "different" from the other side.
How many did I make?  I never really counted them.  These were made over a period of time and were made mostly of green bottles cause that's what I had. I could count them but then I gave some away too.
I am really wanting to try something with the link stellato_escuro posted (that generated this post) Now that looks classy.
I had used the bottoms for tea lights plants etc. It will be real nice to see what other people come up with.  A challenge to you all.  I mean like the things that come out of Craftster. Roll Eyes

Obviously, my next challenge will be how to use a computer.  Sorry about the underline thing.  I meant only to underline the word "classy".
