Dough (or use premade pie dough): 300 grams (10.5oz.) Flour 210 grams (7 oz.) margarine 2 T. vinegar 1 egg 1 packet baking powder (about 2 1\5 teaspoon) Mix together.
Fill a round baking dish 28cm (regular size pie pan)with half of the dough. Prick a few times with a fork. Bake in oven 175 degrees C (about 340F) til light brown. Filling: 750 gram (1 lb) apples (I make my own choice here--half sour half sweet) Grate the apples on a coarse grater (here again I changed it. I found it tasted better thinly sliced and less like apple sauce). 50 gr (about 1.7 oz)raisins (again I liked both the dark and light ones your preference) If you grated the apples let it stand a bit then squeeze out the fluid. Put apples on the dough. Roll out 3\4 of the remaining dough and put on top of the apples. Bake in oven til light brown. Take apricot jam without sugar and spread on top of pie. Roll out the rest of the dough, cut long strips and put these on top of the jam. Put back into oven and bake til brown. Approx. 20 min. Hope you like it.
I have a sugar free apple pie that is requested alot here at home. It involves lite jam though. It seems that it takes longer to make than DH to finish off.Let me know if your interested and I'll go find the recipe to type out.
