Thank you everyone. I too had to think about the "heat" side of things. It can really get hot here and the kids wear their costumes mostly from the morning on to the evenings. Sometimes for a few days. The fleece was chosen simply because the little girl has issues with fabric on her hands\arms. Other considerations...the weight (on such a little girl). She approved of everything and didn't even complain about the weight. The Mom wanted to put real peacock feathers (that she got off Etsy) in the back for the tail. I vetoed that one cause the little girl would have to stand up all day. Instead I made the headdress for her....win-win.

Thank you all!!! We do recycle our costumes every year. We have a very small budget for making the costumes so we really have to look outside the box as it were. The trick is to use them again without everyone noticing that it was from a previous play.
The black foam I got here. We have a factory that makes linings for boxes. I don't really know what to call it. Like small suitcases that hold something precious with cut outs that hold that specific thing. I've asked for the left overs so I have a weird assortment of foams (densities, shapes and colors) Bits and pieces but have helped with the creative juices.lol

Thank you elderflower. She was so sweet when she came to "try" it on and said thank you so nicely. Her smile made it all worth it.

Little owl, thanks. I had to come up with something creative. No icicles to be had here til Christmas and then I have to really look for them. So Google is my best friend.
Needless to say, I didn't take a picture of all of the "creative" failures.lol

Lol. Thank you elderflower. I thought that hot glue was specifically made for burning me on every project. Long ago I made little planters by "drawing" with hot glue then painting them over....cheap planters.lol. It has its' uses.
