Hmmm, guess this thread kind of died. I was going to knit socks with the Klingon logo, but that didn't work. So I decided to knit "Trekkie" into the cuff instead.

They're not meant for me, so they're WAY too big. Hopefully my BF will love them.

I normally knit by hand, but my grandma gave me her knitting machine and I had to use it. I was given the option of doing an art project for one of my classes (Transgender Personalities and Histories, in a very hippie, open-minded school) on What does Gender mean to you? So I did this...





This was the most frustrating project I have ever done. So many things went wrong. Oh so many. I'm never doing this again. I wanted to shoot myself by the end of it. I love how it turned out, though.

If anyone wants any further explanation of the project, I'm happy to oblige. Later. My brain is fried right now.

I am loving this sweater. These are not colors I normally wear, but I figured it's time to switch it up a bit. They're gorgeous hand-dyed natural colors. They look a little more pastel than they really are in the picks, though they are light. I want to see other people's pics so i can keep being motivated to work on this thing, no matter how annoying the yarn is for this type of thing.

I want you to know, there was another picture in which I looked very cute but you couldn't see the boobholder very well. I denied vanity in an attempt at giving you guys a better view of my chest even though I was all squinty (I was looking straight into the sun and laughing. Under such circumstances I think I look ok.)

I used yarn from here: http://www.spincycleyarns.com/store/ and here: http://midnightskyfibers.com/ so, basically, it's impossible to knit one of these anything like mine, though I think more of the blue yarn is available from spincycle, though I can't find the maroon anymore. These are both local fiberartists (to me, anyways), midnightsky is actually a friend of mine, I think I traded her some jewelry I made for this yarn (the light turquoise and pink mix). I am super-duper happy with how this turned out.

Ok, so I finished these several weeks ago, and they took much longer than they should have because I paused to work on other things. But I finally took pics of them. I think I will definately wear these when it gets cooler outside.

lepetitsoldat, I think your *accidental modification* (as I like to call it) looks fabulous. Unless someone is way nit-picky and is familiar with the pattern, everyone is gonna think it's supposed to be that way.

Stuff I've finished lately....


Blue beads at the end of chain, super simple but they go with everything.

I love the olive color and turquoise together! the chain is let to dangle freely, and just brushes your neck.


Dancing Skeletons! I just picked a few beads that I thought were in complimentary colors and stuck them at the end of chain with the pendants. I love how they turned out!

Shell pendants that have little flowers bonded to the front, and dyed and natural quartz up top. I love these colors!

I've been told these look 70's, and I agree! They're dyed quartz pendants, with a few glass beads on hoops. They're very eye-catching!

So what do you guys think? Anything you think I need to work on?
