I want to start this SO BAD! I did a yarn swap and got some lovely yarn in exchange that should work perfectly for it:

It's an Elann yarn, Endless Summer Luna, but they don't have this color right now. It's cotton and rayon and DK, so I'm thinking fairly drapey, which is what I want for this. The ply of the yarn that looks grey is actually more green, and the other ply is pretty accurate. Dunno why my camera did that. When I manage to finish one of my WIPs I will start this.

Irishelf, your sweater is coming along quite nicely! I like it! I have FINALLY had pictures taken of mine.

This shirt is SO CUTE and fits almost perfectly.....

...except for the fact that the straps are a wee bit too long. I can easily fix that.

I used size 0 needles b/c I had just bought them and was itching to try them out. The socks ended up being a bitch to get on but they do not fall down around my ankles and fit just fine.

BTW, Amarillys, yours are gorgeous! That yarn is fantastic!

I've been lurking in this thread for a while though I haven't posted. Well, here's my version:


Pre-blocking. Measured at 7' long

While blocking. Measured at 10' 2" long. Almost twice my height.

My favorite part of the scarf. Love those colors.

Yarn: SWTC Karaoke color #306 and black Cascade 220.
It's still blocking, but I was just so excited about it that I needed to post. It's going to take a while to dry. The Karaoke was pretty nice and it feels softer to me than SWS and I like the colors better. It is more expensive, though. This was an x-mas gift, so that doesn't matter much to me  . In the future I think I might try SWS.

I am NOT looking forward to sewing in all those loose ends. *sighs*

Jaywalker socks with Opal rodeo. This was x-mas yarn (2006) so it's not so much de-stashing as, well, preventing the yarn from ever becoming part of the stash.


Fingerless mitts of my own design. Yarn from my friend Jenny at midnightskyfibers.c om named Swamp Monster. There are two of them but my other pics of these turned out crappy. This yarn had been in my stash for a while, I was proud of myself for taking yarn from my "yarn I need to plan for" list to FO in one night. Yes, I have a list of all my WIPs, planned projects, yarn I need to plan for, and projects I will do when I finish this silly noyarnforayear thing. So obsessed.



Danica from knitty in SWTC Karaoke and Cascade 220 in black. The Karaoke was x-mas yarn, so technically never stash, but I did pre-empt a possible addition to the stash, which counts! Before I blocked it was 7'. I measured it pinned to my floor and it is 10' 2". Almost twice my height. It's huge. And beautiful. And it's getting much warmer here so I won't be able to wear it for very long, if at all. Sad.

I have knitted more so far this year, but some was for swaps, and one is a sweater that I need to get better pics of. Soon, very soon I will show it off.

Of course I like my stuff, brideOFkniterstien! I went to the post office today (not an easy thing when you have no car and you either have to walk a long ways or take two buses to get there) and I opened it before I even left and OMG everything is gorgeous.


The shawl. It's HUGE and beautiful and warm and I have not taken it off since I got home.

You see? My apartment is cold, cause I'm a poor college student. This thing is wonderful!

Yoga mat bag! I have yarn I was going to use to make myself one, but never got around to it and pretty much lost motivation. I guess that's a good thing or i would have two! I was in a yoga/pilates swap during the summer. This girl does her homework!

Crocheted amulet bag. So pretty!

Hand embroidered and I think that's crochet around the edge? It's a hanky and it's cute and I love it.

That's pretty much all the yarn I'm trying to use up. I do have more, and a few stray skiens not pictured that I definately want to use up, but this is most of what I'm counting. If I use this up, I get to buy more yarn. The fabric bag in there is full of scraps for a scrap scarf.


All dumped out on the floor. I should spread it out so people can see what's in there. You mostly see the 1-lb'ers, which were for a big project and I don't think they really count. It's stuff to use for charity knits, so it can stick around.

My stash is alot smaller than alot of the ones I've seen, but I'm a college student with little money and a penchant for expensive yarn. Oh, and I live in a small apartment, so I have no space for more yarn.

So, I finished one!


That's my roommate right there. This was her (very late) solstice present. She was very understanding about the lateness.

I actually started one of these for myself before this one, but I screwed up the neckline and got frustrated and threw it in a corner. I started this, since gifts take priority, and it turned out so nice that I'm going to go back and fix a few things on mine and it should look quite nice.
