I posted this under HeartofMary's thread as well, but thought it would be fun to add my own post.  This is a messenger bag I made for my trip to Vegas next week, using her tutorial, and some awesome casino/dice fabric I got off of Etsy.com.  It turned out really cute, and i am also making a wallet to hopefully post tonight after i take pictures once it is finished. Let me know what you think, and if you are thinking about trying this tute out... DO IT!  it is really simple, and i am not by any means a great sewer, the directions were clear and simple, and I LOVE IT!!!!

I was looking for a halloween costume for my cat Found one similar online but thought i could make one!  SO here is my version, the orange is stripes, and i kind of zig zagged around the edges.  Hope my pictures work.  Comments welcome!   Thanks!!!!

I have a question for all craftsters out there!   

I recently learned a new bag style that has a 18"x17" piece of fabric.  I wasnt sure how to go about cutting out a square this big, so i kind of winged it. 

Does anyone have any tips or tricks about how to cut a larger piece of fabric like this, and to make sure that it is square? 

Any help would be awesome!!!!  Thanks!!!! 

As gross as it is my bf chews tabacco... were trying to get him to quit... but he has all these tins laying around, that are plastic, with metal top... trying to think of something crafty to do with them... 

p.s. any ideas on how to get him to quit, w/o the cold turkey method?

I have been taking my lunch to work in a plastic bag (target bag) and it is not very fun, so i thought up a new lunch bag.  Basically just a square bag, outside is cotton fabric, with little colorful kitty faces, inside is made out of a picnic table fabric, i found that in the scrap pile at JoAnns, and thought it would be perfect even if something spills i can wipe it out.  It was easy to sew up, and the ribbon is just in the seam to help tie it shut.  You could probably also do a drawstring if you wanted.  I think it is the perfect size.  Let me know if you have questions/comments

Here is a new purse I just got done with.  The fabric is brown with pink butterflies, and little sparkles.  I think it turned out really cute.  I didnt have a pattern, but just kind of sketched something out to use to cut the fabric.  Let me know what you think... thanks to my sis for modeling for me.





 

Hey everyone!  I have been reading and asking questions on here for a few weeks so i thought i would do my own post!  I found this pattern from the JoAnn Fabric website... http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat13851&PRODID=xprd73646 ... if you go there you can see the pattern.  I really like the fabric, and it was my first try with something like this, i think it turned out pretty cute, i would like longer handles, but its cute.  I got the fabric on sale too!  Let me know what you think, or any suggestions to make it better.  ThAnKs!
