I feel like a dick, I haven't posted my second package yet even... I have a million excuses why I haven't, but they're just excuses. I totally love Attienicole! she sent me a totally amazing package/s.
I'm in love with headbands, I dunno why, just am.
she doesn't know this yet, but I've ALWAYS wanted one of these.
I love how I got a partner that is totally amazing, and has similar tastes as I do, it's so easy and fun to craft for her.
((double sorry about being so late to post pics. really. really.))
ok! after an hour or so of trying to get this computer thing to work... I feel silly, I'm good at crafts, but this photo thing always gets me. lol. anyhoo, attienicole is my partner, and I received her package yesterday! I couldn't get the pictures up.
I had to search for the rainbow, I made it my wallet immediately, I love it! she makes pouches for keeping things in, reciepts from her job and such. it's so pretty!
The mushroom, is because she loves gardening! (I love mushrooms!!) The piggy bank because valentines day is her favorite holiday... she's really in love with her SO, I think it's really touching.
one of those spinny things! which is perfect! I used to have one and it broke! I love these!
The cards, to remind her of her childhood, her favorite yarn! trellis I think it's named; and homemade bookmarks! I tried to get a better picture of the one she made w my name;
her favorite magazine, this old house ( I love this one tooo!) and mary kay foot goodies, so I can have pretty feet!
My sister took these as soon as I had opened the package. lol. she loves them. I love them too. they are totally adorable!
AH! I love everything, I think we have sooo much in common, it's crazy! I love it all. I'm so excited to be making friends with this! it's fantastic.
I received from Christine today!!!! well actually I think it may have been Saturday, but I'm impossible to get a hold of over the weekends, so I got it today! I totally love it, I had pinned the fabric off of her. ha ha. She also is a dear and made it reversible!
(excuse my armfat) second side
I love it soo much! she also made me potholders, and stretchy thingies... (I don't live under a rock, but I don't know what they are to be honest.)
(if you have pictures you could post them maybe? ) I apologize for the pictures quality, it's really more beautiful in real life, but I lost my camera and phone over the weekend, so I have little to no way to get pix other than these. thank you christine for being such a great swap partner!!!
I'm soooo excited I love my package! She gave me everything I could have asked for and more! I love it!
Gerbilgal was super generous with everything she gave me. I can hang some of the things in the living room, and my family will enjoy them too, as we're a pretty Catholic family. I really appreciate the time and effort she put into the religious items, it means a lot to me. <3
easter bunny wall hanging!
plusss two jesus wall hangings too
a large wall hanging (<3<3<3)
and and and CHICKY STUFFFIIESSSSS!!!!!!!!
I freaking LOVE these things! you'd think since I could knit that I would be able to figure it out, but I just can't seem to. ha ha. thank you so much gerbilgal I love my goodies!
So I'm super into spring. I am also totally envious of those baby headbands that are everywhere... anyone who has looked at my pinning probably knows this. ha ha. anyhoo, after searching for what seemed like forever, I found a youtube video on making them... if I find the link, I'll link back to it, but I can't remember it atm.
I crocheted the headband, and that's the reason I was actually posting it. I'm kinda proud, I haven't been able to crochet very well for a while due to shoulder tendon issues. I'm psyched! that it even kinda turned out.
close up of the roses...
I just kinda winged the pattern. ya'll know how it goes. feedback is always nice. Thanks for looking!
OK! I always seem to have to fight with the silly widget on here in order to get my photos to upload properly, or I forget/overlook the simplest things. ANYHOO. onto my wonderful amazing package that Terra sent me!
This is the my monster pouch. and a cute greeting card.
(isn't he adorable!!! I always tend to name things... but bluie sounds funny to me... maybe others have suggestions??) I *cough* can't find my iPod atm. I feel like a dunce, but I think my sister may have it, or I would have a modeling shot!
and this is a picture I pinned to my wishlist! as I said, I literally gasped when I saw this one. my sister thought something was wrong. something was VERY right!
and a really cute laundry bag to keep things safe! (excuse the mess, and the not great picture, this is the least blurry I could get)
this is where my picture lives now.
It really does just make me smile, I know it might be a little nerdy or simple, but it warms my heart. I put it where I see it before I leave for work in the morning.
weew. this seems really long winded, but I have had a long, kinda trashy day, and this is a high point. actually, it's just fantastic! The best really. Thank you sooo much Terra! I love my package, and you are a great partner!!! <3
I'm fond of the nest, myself. Not sure what to do about that exactly.
Here's a third version I just finished (I've been working on this all day). Maybe the third time is the charm. On this one, instead of the nest and the individual leaves, I surrounded the bird with a stone-leaf-stone element on both sides. I *think* that adds some visual "weight" to the other side. I'm torn.
It's vital that this piece tells the story. It's an Ecuadorian folk tale in which a hummingbird flies to and from a river with a single drop of water in her beak, doing whatever she can to douse the flames that threaten her home, while the other animals feel hopeless and therefore do nothing. I like that the fancy jasper stones add an earthy feel among the flora.
Am eager to hear your feedback and suggestions.
(close up of bird-in-the-forest element)
I hope you don't mind that I drew on your picture to explain what I meant,
I read the story you are referring to and I didn't see anything about nests in it. While I think it adds nicely to the necklace, but um... like a couple others said, it is kinda matte. I think if you moved the hummingbird down a bit, it may keep the necklace from getting wonky when worn, and maybe the fire closer to the forest? it looks a little bit lonely up by the top, and as with the hummingbird, it may keep things a bit more centered when worn.
I hope this is actually helpful and not just rambling.
