1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed! on: June 04, 2010 02:38:34 AM
Hi there, I have three tattoos, my makers mark on my back and a knit/purl ambigram on my forearm but my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE are my antlers! I have always wanted antlers and they have great significance for me that would tkae pages to write, but lets just say I feel complete now that I have them. I designed them myself, spent a good year getting them right and deciding what colour to have. THe lovely people at Holey Skin in Bristol made my antler dream come true! Its not the best photo but I can't get hold of my camera right now. SOrry aobout the stupid face  Undecided

These are my little fatties. Made from porcelain and various other bits and bobs! I'm not really sure what else to say... except how much I love them, I talk to these guys in my studio space, it gets me lots of odd looks... they all live in the log here, one has brass antlers and gold laquer toes, one has yellow roses on its belly and the other has black legs and feathers. Take form them what you will! Thanks for looking!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted Headphones on: February 07, 2010 03:49:19 PM
Katamari was what started these off! How funny! I've been making quite a mint off these in Hereford, but its such a small town its funny to see people walk past with your work on their heads and not know who you are! It does make me giggle.

They are stitched very carefully, and as invisibly as possible, into the padding around the edges. I leant some to a couple of blacksmiths for a wear-and-tear test, because if anyone can destroy something its a blacksmith, and they came back just fine thankfully.

Shes by my sink at the moment, waiting patiently for me to make her some friends and then we'll hopefully all be heading out to Hereford craft fair in November.

Thankyou very much everyone! I have some orders form friends already, heh, anything to tide me over on that good old student loan! Darn, I should have thought of these before christmas. I think you can get earbud ones with knitted cords on folksy somewhere...

I made one of these a long long time ago, but since then I have changed the design and gotten a lot better at knitting, so I thought I'd share my newest creations with you all! These bad boys can keep your ears toasty warm whilst also playing you your favourite tunes. Booya!

Hehehe, I now have a LOT of options form my music!
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Georgia, Antler Girl! on: February 05, 2010 08:51:12 AM
Hi there!

This has been a VERY long project in the making for me. Georgia is made form porcelain paper clay and is painted with underglaze pencils, glazes and coloured slip. Sh ehas a little stag cameo which I made using a magnifying glass and a TEENY paintbrush, a knitted dress with a ceramic ruff. She's also sitting on top of a mighty chair, made from pine and black enamel with an upholstered red seat. Her hair is made from teased and dyed flax fibres. Phew!

Hope you like here, I do!
