Just learning to sew or want to learn? Are you interested in learning to design and draft patterns? Stymied by a technique? Have a project you want to start, just need some encouragement to finish a project or wanting some creative company?
The Urban Sewing Lounge is the place for you!
Unlike most other sewing classes or groups, you choose your projects and we are there to help you from start to finish.
At every session we offer instruction and assist all of the following: patternmaking & design, fitting & alterations, layout & cutting, machine and handsewing and every technique (to name just a few…pressing, zippers, pockets, linings, embroidery) and more. With an extensive library, vintage and new~ includes patternmaking, sewing guides and books and manuals on topics related.
The Urban Sewing Lounge also offers access to a large collection of Rare patternmaking books from Germany and Japan from 1930’s to present. Thousands of designs to choose from that can be made to fit anyone, any size for women, men and children. We have a pattern and fabric swap area, sewing machines,dress forms and plenty of one-on-one help.
There are no charges for instruction or use of any of the materials or equipment.
