3  Washington / Washington: West / Re: seattle fabric stores on: August 17, 2010 01:13:05 PM
This fabric store is so amazing!!! Fabrics from all over the world and you will find them on rolls place on tables where you make your choice and they cut right there. Lots of silk, wool, cotton and laces and stretch and a notion area you may only find in India. The prices are fanatstic!!! I have never seen anything over $15.00 and that was coating wool.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: problems with collar stands & collars on: February 09, 2008 05:38:28 PM
Stand up collars are the last frontier. One tip -stay stitch 1/2" in the seam allowance all along the neckline - with the collar completely assembled stitch the back side/underside of the collar band from the front shirt band to the center back and repeat on other side, now with with collar folded up in the collar band that is inside out with wrong sides showing, stitch just like the underside from the shirt front bands band to just about the shoulder seam , trim carefully and pull collar out. and either hand stitch or machine stitch.Always top stitch with your bobbin thread threaded through that little hole in the arm coming from the bobbin case...
