1  Peeking in to say hi!!! [Watermelon Taffy Soap] in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by simplyorganic on: April 17, 2012 11:49:45 AM
Oh how i've missed Craftster, let me count the ways!!!!!

For the past two years i've been in hiding because I had a baby boy in  2010 and prior to that, was put on major bed rest and not allow to craft anything. So hubby made me shut it down :-(
Then right after having him, started planning a wedding!! And in the mix of that, cake competitions, 4 children and my grandma fell ill with brain, pancreatic and lung cancer (and i was back and forth taking care of her) and sadly 4 days before our wedding passed away which was November 19th 2011.

So out of all of that i'm just now getting some type of order to my life and have been able to get back into my lab and create :-)

I just wanted to share the first soap i've done in two year and it's Watermelon Taffy Soap.
Cp Soap but in whipped form!! Bottom is green, middle is a little bit of white and the top is pink with lots of swirls and glitter. The black specks are Black Hawaiian Sea Salt for a little bit of eye candy and to give the effect of a slice of watermelon.

I do not have a tutorial on it because I've always used Nizzy's website as my guide.
So for anyone daring here is the link and I hope you find some use from it http://nizzymoulds.com/Whipped/index.htm
Using this method does takes a little practice and learning what seizes and what doesn't, oils that work best for you and everything else but once you get it, it's hard to stop!

Glad to be back and happy crafting <3

2  I'm back :-) [Raspberry Clay Soap, Bath Macaroons, & More] in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by simplyorganic on: September 16, 2010 05:31:03 AM
Man and it feels so good!!!!

I had to go incognito b/c guess what?! I had a baby! Yup July 21st is when Kameron Xavier made his way into the world at 6lbs 12oz. My pregnancy was such a downer b/c I was put in the "high risk" category which made have to be put on bed rest, not allowed to make any products, had to get shots once a week, went into preterm labor about 4 times, diagnosed with Hyperemesis AND this is all while taking care of my other 3 children! But all is well, the house is sorta back to normal and i'm sorta back to creating!

I've been checking in and out and I'm loving all of the new idea's and creativity that you all have been doing.... YA'LL ROCK :-)

I had a FEW minutes to spare to myself this past week and wanted to show off a little of what i've done! It's nothing major or spectacula BUT amazing b/ci'm nursing and I actually got time to myself to do it, lol. I hope you enjoy it!
Remember it's NON edible and for the bath only :-)

3  Hand designed Soap Bars in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by simplyorganic on: September 28, 2009 05:10:39 PM
So, i've been dying to test out my true design skills and came up with these ever so cute soap bars!
TRUST ME i'm no artist, the flowers are just something I learned in nail tech school, lol.....

So it's just using the regular sqare bar mold from WSP and the designs are hand painted with a soap paint base that you mix equal parts of acrylic paint with, let it dry and then do a thin layer of base of it. It's tricky to work with so if you try it have some patience and k now Rome wasn't built in a day :-)
The other design is done with a cookie cutter, imagination and Mica from TKB :-)

6  Soap Fun In the Summer Time! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by simplyorganic on: June 02, 2009 06:19:26 AM
so here are a few bar soaps I whipped up this past weekend.

I'm so happy with the way they came out too! It's done via the Hot Process Method, so trust me when it came time to scent color and mold I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off!! I know I took a step away form my normal "food" soaps but I wanted to try a few bars in the mix of things...... I got my Fragrances from NG (NaturesGarden) And they have them in 1oz bottles and if you get 10 or more they only cost you $2 (saving $0.50) the dyes I've been using are from a ebay supplier and also WSP liquid dyes. So far i've not been dissapointed!

So for your viewing pleasures:
And Watermelon Taffy.... this fragrance is strong watermelon and you can smell the faintness of vanilla, like you would with real taffy, I tried to make this look like a slice of Watermelon as much as possible!! I liked it so much I had to add three pictures :-)

Black Tie Label (for Men) It musk, basil, lemon, spice, black pepper, cucumber and Kaffir lime..... It's really smells like Burberry cologne and I added Black Hawaiian Charcoal Sea Salt for a little scrubbing. My fiance used it last night and said this is his new fav...

Baby Blue Suggar (unisex but more for men) it's base is vanilla but topped with, musk, patchouli and i'm telling you this fragrance is so sexy..... if you make some soap you gotta try this one

Hawaiian Fruity Punch (it smells just like the red H.P you used to drink when you where little..... i'm totally impressed with this fragrance)

So i've been a little busy trying to figure out what sweet to make next and here are a few!

As for tutorials I cannot take credit on the steps, that would have to go to WSP's blog.... Wholesalesuppliespl us.com blog has a great tutorial on how to get the whipped soap look! Once you go to their page, just click on the blog and they have tons a recipes and tuts!! I got the initial recipe from them but added my own touches which is why I cannot put it here but I deff want them to have the credit, so go check out their blog!!! It's amazing!!!

As for the Body Shots Soap easy peasy! Just get a Shot Glass mold (ebay), Pour your soap. Once it's set take another color and fragrance to fill it and then top it how you like! I topped mines off with a handmade lime with drizzles :-)
