31  Re: Super Simple Hair Doo Dads Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by magadoo on: July 10, 2009 05:11:05 PM
I'm not too into steampunk, but the clock on your head band pretty hate machine is super cute!

I received today from rowenlynn:

It's a headband with applique elephants.  It's a little too big for my head (I have a tiny head) so I'll have to adjust the elastic a bit but I do love it! Thank you so much rowenlynn!

32  La Salsa inchie art! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by magadoo on: July 03, 2009 07:50:36 PM
Ok, so this can not be claimed as mine but I thought it was neat anyway.  My boyfriend and I went to La Salsa (a Mexican food place near us) and I noticed the artwork.  It was all inchies!

Just thought I'd share!

I received from Peaches Everyday today and boy was I not disappointed- case in point:

wait, there's another side!

Oh my goodness!  I must say this was a great marriage between two of my favorite things- elephants and Transformers (robots in disguise)!

And see how the Autobots logo is centered-

If this was a mistake, it's an awesome one.  Thanks Peaches Everyday!

36  2nd recon-Pooh pants (image heavy) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by magadoo on: March 22, 2009 09:51:22 AM
Yay! My second successful recon!  Although I don't like Winnie the Pooh so much anymore, I had these Pooh sheets lying around from my childhood:

And last year I had bought really comfy pajama shorts from Old Navy but because I wore them all the time they got really big holes in them:

So, since I liked the shape and cut of the shorts, I cut them apart and made a paper pattern:

To test it out, I used the Pooh sheets to make shorts.  And here they are (ta-da):

Anyway, like I said- not a fan of Pooh anymore, but since they're only pajama pants it's okay.  Once I get comfortable with sewing I'll buy nice fabric and make a nice pair of pants!

37  Maybe cheesy? in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by magadoo on: March 14, 2009 09:44:38 AM
I was looking through my closet yesterday for a shirt to wear to work.  I noticed that I had a few shirts I haven't worn in many moons.  What I found were these:

Lo and behold, they were red, white and blue.  So, what else to do besides do something patriotic.  This is what i ended up with:

(The green shoelace for a tie won't be permanent- that's all I had available at the time)

And I noticed I could wear it two ways:
As a skirt...

or as an underbust dress. Which looks better?

Sorry for so many pictures but this is my first post here and my first recon. C & C (but please be nice! Grin)

38  Just a blue hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by magadoo on: February 09, 2009 06:12:37 PM
I made my mom a broomstick lace scarf for christmas and she asked for a hat for her birthday.  I decided not to use the broomstick stitch since I wasn't sure how it would work for a hat.  However, I did decide to line it in fleece and give it a cue pom-pom in the top.  Enjoy!

C & C appreciated. Thanks!

39  Um, a cthulu elephant you say? in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by magadoo on: February 09, 2009 06:06:07 PM
For a friend's birthday, my boyfriend had an idea to combine 3 things that she likes: 1) steampunk 2) elephants 3) cthulu.  What he came up with was a steampunk cthulu elephant.  Even though it's not mine, here are the results:

Note the tiny key wings and springy tail.

Any C & C appreciated! I hope you enjoyed it!

40  Pirate tea wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by magadoo on: February 09, 2009 06:00:03 PM
So for a friend's birthday I decided to make something small, yet useful.  I decided on a tea wallet made out of a pirate bandana I happened to have lying around from a pirate party.

I hope you like it.  Any C & C appreciated!
