... or as my boyfriend calls it the "Down the Rabbit Hole" pillow.  I made this as a gift for my parents' 25th wedding anniversary.  I started by picking fabrics that had silver incorporated and then picked coordinating fabrics.  So I found white with silver sparkles and a green-blue with silver specks.  To coordinate I found the light blue with a heart pattern (to represent love  ).  I crazy quilted the front- it was my first time using this technique- and made it into a slip cover for a pillow.




I sewed 25 pearl beads around the center- one for each year of marriage.  You can slightly see the white fabric with silver sparkles to the left and the green-blue with silver specks at the bottom.

And the back- I'm not too fond of the back but I think it works.

Last year for Christmas, I made Gir, a Triforce pillow, scarf and hat set for my mom, hats for my boyfriends nieces and nephew, and a penguin and dragon for my cousins.  This year, I held back from making so much because I've been having problems with my wrist.  Here's this years haul:

The crowning glory of this year's gifts- the Cthulhu ski mask.  My friend had seen this on the intertubes http://boingboing.net/2009/05/05/cthulhu-ski-mask.html and he casually said that he wanted one for Christmas.  I couldn't find an exact pattern so I started with a basic hat pattern and winged it from there. The colors are a vibrant blue, white, and maroon but I couldn't get an accurate picture of the colors.

It's backed in a purple fleece and the bow is the same color purple.

This is a Lion Brand pattern.  The only thing the pattern is missing is a wee panda tail.

My boyfriend's brother got married last year and to celebrate his anniversary with his wife I made them an art quilt.  He proposed in a pumpkin patch and got married in October, so I went with a seasonal theme:

The back is a little off center and the quilting still isn't perfect, but I'm trying  .  I also went on to put a hanging sleeve on the back to give them the option of hanging it up.

The past few nights I haven't been sleeping very well and my cure for that has been crocheting.  I have made 2 hats and a pair of slippers.  The two hats are inspired by AprilDraven's hat making kick as of late.  The first is the star slouchy hat using her pattern in white and forest green:





This hat is a four leaf clover for all those Irish and wanna-be Irish out there.  I plan on wearing this next March for St. Paddy's Day:



And these slippers were made using Lydia the Strange's pattern (with a few modifications) for my mom who asked me to make her a pair because the slipper-shoes she has are too hot for Autumn:

So this is great and I just tried making it but my head is smaller than most so the hat was waaaay to big.  I have frogged it and plan on making it again with a smaller hook.

my head is smaller than most too so I just make hat patterns a size or 2 bigger. If you want, stop increasing on rnd 8 or 9 and that should make it a size smaller too. Which ever way is easier 

I used a G hook instead of an H and also stopped increasing once the dc was at 8 instead of 9 in each row.  It fits perfectly.  I also found the Edwardian Homespun and used that yarn.  The hat is so cozy!  I almost want to keep it for myself but I made it for my mom who's completely obsessed with Twilight so she'll love it.  Here's my finished product- it is hard to take a pic of your own head and it doesn't help that my apartment doesn't allow light to escape:

I just finished this memorial art quilt for my uncle who recently passed.  This quilt is in no way perfect.  This is the first quilt I have actually done but I felt that I needed to do something for his memorial service.  He was a big fan of the Giants so the main shape on the front is a football.  I added "laces", along with his name on top, and the dates of his birth and death.  In the middle, I did a gel medium photo transfer of him.  The backing is Giants fabric-pretty simple.  There are a few mistakes- the binding isn't perfect, and somehow the backing was larger so there are a few pin tucks where there shouldn't be.  Overall, I'm happy with it not only as a quilting accomplishment but also because it gave me a way to grieve and commemorate him.  On to photos:
