1  Re: Avatar Round 4 / Legend of Korra / All things Avatar GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by Sakaki on: September 10, 2012 07:43:12 PM
These were my items for HollyBowers. I hope she receives and really likes them. The pendant went out on a green ribbon .. just because I thought it'd look nicest.

Thanks for a great swap BunnieBard!

Since i don't know if she has received and haven't been able to contact her, I'll upload my own pics.

3  Re: Ongoing Inchies Swap Round 3 - Discussion and Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Sakaki on: August 04, 2012 11:30:42 PM
Ok.. Thank you for your patience. I didn't want to post until I had half decent pictures and enough time for at least a half-decent post to accompany them. I have loved every set that I have received and have had a great time making sets in turn for my swap partners. Thanks for putting together this swap Elaine and sorry for making you worry so much about missing inchies!  Shocked

The first set I received this time round was precisely from Miss Nilmerg herself and they were as cute as ever. I've had this theme on my list for a while and had yet to receive (or make) any. These were so cute! Made my day to receive them!

I really can't pick my favourite because i keep jumping from one to another but the werewolf, cat and zombie boy are definitely amongst my faves.

Later I received from Yoopidou. Cuteness from start to finish!
First the envelope: (My flash isn't very helpful but I tried to make it noticeable)

and the back:

and if that wasn't enough.. Then the actual inchies (AND SO MANY OF THEM!!)

They are all so amazing! I especially love all those kitty poses that you know only a cat owner could picture. Awesome candid kitty shots!

Finally I got this really cute card from Plucky:
with the beautifl mix of inchies:
I love the Lorax quote, the celtic knot and BBT one the most.

I just want to say that I really value the work behind each of these. I'm sorry for being so unavailable, there has been some chaos around me lately to say the least! Hehehehe.. I hope you has as much fun as I did making these! Thank you lovely ladies!

5  Beginner Inchies - Japan and Crafting in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Sakaki on: June 13, 2012 05:44:56 PM
Hello everyone!
I have just discovered the joy of making inchies and I've fallen in love with them! I really want to continue and do more with different techniques.

Anyways. These were my first inchies done purposely for a swap. I did 12 that were Japan inspired (The pattern one didn't come out great, and I was also running out of ideas! :S ) and an extra 3 that were crafting related but in humouristic/kawaii way Tongue

I'd love to hear comments, suggestions, etc... Smiley

Yay!  I'm really glad you like it and got it reasonably soon Smiley I was going for things your little one could use and enjoy. The little owl can be for play or you can use it as a felt badge.. Whatever suits you Smiley

I also received from Rodelphia! A really cute mug cosy and a foxy circle vest! Great crocheting! Thank you!

7  First feltie: Totoro! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Sakaki on: April 22, 2012 05:15:14 PM
Probably one of the best films of all time. I've always wanted to make one of these and now I have! Started as an "apliqué" project but I later decided he deserved 3D-ness.

8  Saturday Stitching... in Needlework: Completed Projects by Sakaki on: April 13, 2012 03:22:38 AM
Greetings...
I've been a member for soooooo long but I've never really shared any projects I've done, because to be perfectly honest, I am the queen of procrastination and I never finish anything; and as not to dissatisfy, this isn't 100% complete either because I plan to have it go from random appliqué on random item of clothing I haven't yet identified, to a small plushie type stuffed toy and ...alas, he is still waiting for his other half (literally).

Anywho... This is my rendition to Totoro. Roll Eyes

9  My First Dress Attempt... Ever ! Link to tute in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Sakaki on: February 23, 2008 05:55:36 PM
Okies so I've never ever made a dress in my life, not for myself, not for a child, not even for a doll or Barbie; but i came across this tute and I just had to try one for my cousins 1 year old daughter...Tiny Happy's Tute here: http://tinyhappy.typepad.com/tiny_happy/2007/09/wrap-dress-patt.html

She made it look so easy, I just took the idea and sort of skimmed the text and winged it. No actual measurements, just a very general idea of what a 1 year old should measure (and the help of one of my son's old 1yr-old tees). It was all okay up until I tried to put ribbon on the armholes... I ended up cutting off ruffle sleeves from an old sleeping gown and adding them.. They have very light purple polka dots that match the ribboning, and then I made a ribbon flower with a button centre to cover up some of the stitching on the front.. I'm pretty happy with results, but having no sewing experience whatsoever (I jus woke up one day about 1 1/2 months ago and bought a sewing machine on the net), I've realized that I really need to learno how to make my seams pretty and my cuts clean,... and in general, I need to clean up the details. :S Comments please and tips also!

There were a few problems later though, it kinda slouches and opens in front, a button or something will have to be added... any tips?
