Thanks to humblebumblebee and a threadbanger tutorial... this is my second attempt at a pillbox - all done on the machine except the top part of the zip detail which was hand sewn

Please excuse the face in this one... hangover + summer heat = not happy face

First pillbox attempt can be found here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=284455.0

I agree with all the above ideas... but how about tea staining them to give them an "old" feel first

Scoodies (scarf x hoodie)

They're easy to make... even for us sewing newbies

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=284455.0 are the ones i made

http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2007/09/scoodie.html the tutorial i used for the basic shape

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=246171 the tutorial for the pixie hood shape

http://www.threadbanger.com/hollyjolly/episode/HJH_20071205 my inspiration source - with video tutorial... which i find more helpful that written ones

perhaps cover it with Japanese (or thin with fibers) type papers.. or even some nice fabric
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Scoodies w/ pixie variation + random hat + 1st time poster "hi" on: December 28, 2008 05:14:41 AM
First - Hi everyone, Im Fee *waves* i like dabbling in 20 different crafts at once  and am not terribly good at any of them - but thats ok, i enjoy making the mess Cheesy

Second.. the scoodies - god knows why i made them.. its summer here, but thanks go to Phyxious for the  pointed/elvish hood tutehttp://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=246171 and threadbanger scoodie episode

Pics in link form... due to the 10post antispam rule

First one i made with "omg my eyes it burns" green almost corduroy fabric, lined with what was a yellow terrytowel? dress - both from local thrift store

Second that i made for myself.. so of course i made it too small for my head - made out of my old polarfleece blanket and a random fabric offcut for the lining

3rd and only regular shaped scoodie.. made from random fabric offcut and green mens tshirt - both from a thrift store

And finally...  my first attempt at sewing with felt.. and my first attempt at a hat

The stitching on this one leaves a lot to be desired.. but im a n00b so its ok Wink Im hoping that with enough embellishments no one will notice.

Thanks for looking Cheesy Any feedback/tips etc is most welcome

These are very beautiful  The bat one is highly original.  Love them all but the first is WONDERFUL!

yeah she's really happy with it too. i made another one similar but pointed and she bought it too, so now she has two black underbusts. looks super hot in them too.

Very happy indeed Cheesy I'd wear them every day if i could. Was randomly browsing the site for "steampunk" and came across this post - just had to comment
