Thank you all --

Most of the shirts I found @ a store called $5 & below  - I actually specifically went there looking for T-shirts w/ Recycling words.

The Fender Guitar Bag is so Hubby will stop bringing home those blasted plastic bags... (He remembers to use it @ 1/2 the time)

And the Dunder Mifflin Bag is from the TV show "The Office" it was a gift for a friend that is a huge fan.  What luck that it had a recycle symbol on it!

Thanks again for the kind words.

gggggrrrrrrrrrr... my NEW OLD sewing machine died Cry

but here's the good news! -

1- I had just finished my bag for this swap   YAY!!!

2- the lady gave me a six month warranty on my Machine!! Double YAY!  -- So while it is annoying that I couldn't finish my projects on designated "craft day" yesterday - At least my machine will get fixed!!  (for FREEEEEEEE  Triple YAY!)

I'm excited for the bag I made - I think (fingers crossed) that BlueJeanBAby will really like the fabric I chose for her.

Sending early this week  Smiley

I am going to shop for the fabric tomorrow so I will be reviewing BlueJeanBaby's websites tonight to make sure I pick the perfect fabric.
**Last call for special requests Smiley

I got a new old sewing machine too!!!  I can't wait to put it to the test.  I think I will make a couple things for me before I make something for someone else. --- Just in case it starts acting funny.  The lady really greased it b/c its been dripping oil since I got it   --- that also has to be remedied before sewing for public viewing.

Can't wait to get started!

Wow, thank you so much for this information, seems like the 401 can do everything!  that's how I'm leaning right now, so I just have to go see it & make sure it works as they say, and I may have myself a new old machine!

Thank you again for the valuable information, and I'll keep you posted.

30  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / I have it narrowed down to 3... singer/brother/janome on: February 07, 2009 09:01:57 PM
Hello,

I went sewing machine shopping today. I have it narrowed down to 3

All are very close in price...

One is the Brother XL 3750 - 35 built in stitches & one step button hole etc...

next is the Janome 7318  - only has 18 built in stitches but from what I hear - its a better machine then a brother

and last is an old used Singer 401A  - They tell me it will sew through anything I ask it to...   old, and from the time when plastic wasn't used in everything

Any experience you have had with these machines would be helpful...

Thank you so much.

Melanie
