2  Tree of life necklace! (one of my current favorite pieces of jewelry) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gabsmadblonde on: May 28, 2009 06:54:48 PM
I made this a little while ago fiddling around with my bead stash. I'm really, really excited about the way it turned out.
Secret: the outside ring is made out of a keychain ring.

The whole necklace...it's slightly looser than a choker.

Closeup of the pendant.

3  Why yes, this is what 20 year old college students do for fun...POKEMON! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by gabsmadblonde on: May 28, 2009 06:46:59 PM
In the midst of finals week, my friends and I decided to have a Pokemon doll making party. Yes, it was fantastic. I wish I'd gotten pictures of my friends' Pokemons too, they were ridiculously cute.

Ditto, Jigglypuff, Charmander, Poliwag.

4  The most epic jewelery I've ever made! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gabsmadblonde on: October 19, 2008 10:36:26 AM

These are probably the most epic earrings I've made to date. The pair took me about 4 hours, and my fingers were sore and chafing for the rest of the week! It was worth it, though. (Wire and Swarovski Crystals)

Bracelet for my brother's Bar Mitzvah. (Swarovski Crystals)

Closer view.

Matching necklace...not quite as epic, but still took quite a while to make. (Swarovski crystals, fine gunmetal chain, gunmetal headpins)

My dad's in the naval reserves, and recently he was called up to go to Afghanistan for a year. I made bracelets like this for my mom and I and keychains with the same beads for my dad and brother to have with them. The pendant in the middle is a naval seal, and the two silver beads on either side say 'peace' and 'health'. I used blue and gold, navy colors. (Glass cat's eye beads, Swarovski crystals)

5  Decorated champagne flutes for my dance club banquet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gabsmadblonde on: August 04, 2008 03:43:36 PM
Three hours. I spent three hours with two permanent markers and a glitter pen. I had to take a few breaks when I started getting too dizzy or handcrampy. I wrote the name of our group (Orchesis) on the bottom parts, and each girl's name on the top part, plus some glitter accents. ^_^
(I'm really proud of them, in case you couldn't tell... :[ )

6  Sushi and fortune cookies...aka sheer awesomeness. in Dessert by gabsmadblonde on: August 04, 2008 03:33:22 PM
My friends and I got really into making our own sushi this year.

You can't see it too well, but the blue dish was painted by my me and my boyfriend. The rolls on the red dish were craazy to make.

Some more variety.

Fortune cookies...not great, but not bad for my first try ever. I wrote all the fortunes, too. It was fun.

7  Feeling fishy? (Whole buncha earrings...picture big-boned :D) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gabsmadblonde on: July 31, 2008 01:39:21 PM
I've been an earring machine lately. This set happens to be loosely sushi-themed.

Found these charms in Beadworks, and decided they were too cute to not be made into jewelry. One's a little sushi platter, the other's a Chinese takeout box. The beads, I believe, are Swarovski.

Fortune cookies! These were really fun to make! One's glazed and the other isn't, because I seem to have misplaced my Sculpey glaze moving home from school. :\

These are my current favorites. The fishies are from an old bracelet that broke years ago.

These actually my mom made me for Halloween last year. They're cute. ^_^

And now...off to create!

8  Can tabs and buttons and beads, oh my! (some earrings) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gabsmadblonde on: July 28, 2008 10:32:14 AM
So, I realized I haven't posted here in forever. But I've still been busy feeding my addiction. (More like...beading my...artdiction? Crap.) Anyway, here are a few pairs of earrings (sorry for the not so good pictures...not great lighting in my basement)

Some beads.

Made from some Monster can tabs my friend gave me.

The beads are Sculpey, the hearts at the bottom are beads, the rest is headpins.

Hope you enjoyed! ^_^

9  How to crochet a kippah/yarmulkeh - please help! in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by gabsmadblonde on: July 28, 2008 10:17:20 AM
I know the very basics of kippah crocheting, but I really want to try to make a Dark Side of the Moon kippah for my boyfriend. Does anyone know any good sites where I might learn how to make something like this?:

Excuse the terrible illustration. I made it in about five minutes in MS paint. In the real version, the rainbow stripes would all be touching and actually look like, well, a rainbow.

Any help at all would be fantastic! Smiley

10  Incense holder for my boyfriend in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gabsmadblonde on: March 14, 2008 12:15:00 PM
My boyfriend asked me to make him an incense holder so we wouldn't have to use a makeshift tinfoil one anymore:
