13  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My attempt at a flower necklace on: April 03, 2008 11:40:03 PM

So I tried to make a flower today, this aint half bad considering it's my first try.  I hope yall can see it okay.  I found a thread earlier today that had a link to a tutorial, so thanks for that lady who posted the tutorial!!  I had to alter it a little though cause I am  at an intermediate level for crochet, and Im not too familiar with how to read patterns.  I kind of just looked at it for a few minutes to try to figure out how to do it.  It didn't seem too hard, and in the end it wasn't that hard at all.
14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Rainbow Inspired Necklace on: April 03, 2008 10:07:49 PM

So I started this necklace.... but it just feels incomplete, like I need to add more to it... So here's my question for yall... In your opinion what do you think I should add to it?  This has a "pendant-y" feel to it ya know?  I was thinking of adding 2 more strands and a pendant... but Im not sure if that would be over doing it, ya know?  So I am open for ideas.
15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / 2 Spring Inspired Pink Bracelets on: April 02, 2008 09:35:31 PM
I found some really beautiful glass beads at Hobby Lobby a while back and I finally found an inspiration to use them with a design.  And below is how it turned out.   Please let me know what you think about it!!

Hope you enjoyed looking at them!!  I used tiger wire and some clasps I got at walmart to make them with.  ^___^

17  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / amigurumi on: April 02, 2008 12:09:05 PM
Where can I find patterns for amigurumi?  Is it easy to follow?  I'm an intermediate when it comes to crochet, but I really dunno how to read patterns too well.  I want to learn how to make amigurumi though cause they all look really adorable!!

So any help would be nice.
18  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Need Help on: March 28, 2008 08:56:12 PM
Okay So I want to plant a garden for mom for mother's day, how ever I only have $40 to start out with.  I already got the area in question weeded, I still gotta shovel out dead leaves and what not... But can someone help me learn about the fundamentals of putting a garden together?  Here are a few limitations I gotta keep in mind.

1 - It cannot have deep roots because there are wires in the ground... so I'd have to build up before I plant.

2 - It has to be able to withstand a lot of water because we don't have gutters, so the rain just kind of pours down, but it would be a great natural way for watering the garden.

3 - It also needs to withstand drought conditions.

and 4 - I also would like for it to not have a lot of maintenance requirements.

Also I live in Georgia, and it's spring time here.

So here is my other question - can yall help suggest flowers I can put in the garden?  I have a 1 food wide by 4 feet long area to work with.
19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Tatting (questions need answers please) on: March 27, 2008 11:02:23 PM
Can someone give me some good detailed links on how to tat?  I have a BUTT load of silk thread that is left over from when my mom use to do cross stitching, and I have nothing to do with it.  Then I learned about tatting.  Now I already know how to do one kind of "tatt" type thing, and it seems fairly easy to do, but I was wondering if someone has some good tutorial links on how to tatt for the very beginner?  I want to learn how to do each of the specific kind of stitch you can do.  Or are there any books you'd recommend?
20  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Beautiful Beaded Necklace and lots of other beaded designs! on: March 26, 2008 09:15:57 PM

I seen a design in a magazine I liked so I recreated it and made my mother this set.  I really love how it turned out, it looks professional and so far its one of my best ones.  Let me know what you guys think of it!!
