That first dress looks like one of those skirts that were so popular a while back, but pulled up to the bust + a belt!
find one that might fit you that way, in the color you're looking for you may have a really simple and inexpensive solution. The secone one kind of has the same shape and might work the same way. good luck.

What a fantastic step back into childhood! I love the picture with you(?) in the costume sitting on the bed... It sort of embodies the whole idea of building your own little place to read and imagine, and become the character and have your own adventures all in your room. 

and on a technical note, I love the way you sewed the tree texture onto the sheets... looks awesome!

Thanks minathia ~ it's a good thing i didn't wait around to get a punch, the only butterfly ones I found were super tiny anyway.

I'm totally itching to make more, one with clouds and raindrops, one with balloons, sort of an "Up" feel to it.

Vampira_666 - Well I certainly can't claim it as my own... I saw it in pottery barn. I think it would be an Awesome wedding decoration!! Congratulations! btw

TrishGray17 - My boys (twins/6) wanted to help me with this. to make the butterflies easier to cut out I folded the paper in half and traced the design on one side. So at least it would be symmetrical.

thanks, I tied a single knot at the bead actually... so it could be easily loosened and moved, in case I wanted to change the spacing after I was done.
