1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Bacon And Egg Scarf! on: June 21, 2011 04:28:51 PM
Made this scarf for myself in late winter early spring. Then when I went to pick up my Son from school his music teacher liked it so much I gave it to her.

The pattern is from Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies. That book is packed full of kick ass food patterns and Twinkie Chan is super cute.

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / "Chichen Coup" on: June 21, 2011 03:59:09 PM
After almost a year of casual chat about getting some backyard chickens my husband finally took to the idea. So we went from talking about having chickens to me having the entry of my house turned into a chicken haven. As the girls got bigger the husband got to work on a chicken coop for them. He took a 7 day vacation and worked up his own basic design. With a bit of advice and help from our DIY neighbors this is what we made.

All put together with Isabella standing in front to show an idea of the size.

Egg door!

We used branches from a tree trimming as perches rather then getting rods from the hardware store. And just a few days ago added another perch up higher as we had a chicken who was getting into the roof area and we didnt want her to fall out of the corner and get hurt.

The inside is roomie enough for a 6 year old.

Side window, there is also a smaller window on the back of the coop.

Chicken door with ramp

Two of the origional three Nugget Sisters. One ended up being a brother lol.

And the new babys! 3 days old

We will have 6 in total with any luck the new chicks are all growing up to be hens so we wont have to take any back. The coop has been named the "Chichen Coup" and my husband is now working on signs for it.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rocket Popsicle Scarf on: January 08, 2011 04:16:24 PM
This worked up so quick! I got Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies a few days ago and love it. I happened to have the right colors on hand for the Rocket Popsicle Scarf. I had to learn a new stitch but it wasn't to hard with the book and a few youtube videos.

My lovely model is my Daughter Isabella.

I cant wait to work on some of the other projects in the book!

And whats better then a bomb pop scarf to remind me of great summer days when I'm freezing my booty off during Kansas winters.

The helmet is a real used 1980's Russian Helmet. I would tell you where i got it. But it's a cold war secret.

Helmet is being modeled by The Spawn (my 10 year old). Who doesn't like TG cuz "she looks smelly" lol.

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Cupcake Purse on: August 11, 2010 11:44:56 AM
This is my first try at making my own pattern. I wanted to do a crochet cupcake purse that didnt cinch at the top.

There is a Velcro closure between the stuffed frosting top and the cake purse bottom.

I added sprinkle beads to the top.

I'm thinking of adding a plastic canvas insert in the next one to firm up the bottom and help it keep its shape after putting stuff inside.

8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / to wholesale or not to wholesale on: March 09, 2010 01:12:57 PM
So today i checked my myspace for The Cupcake Attitude. I got an email feb 26th from someone wanting to know if i would be interested in wholesale. They didn't give any info other then an email address. There myspace account is blank and was last loged into on the day they messaged me. I have sent them an email asking for more information. If they have an online store or if they have a real life retail shop.

I recently took down my cafe press account and have been planning to move everything to zazzle. I am also looking into doing some craft fairs.

At the moment I do not have a registered trademark or copyright. I took my original sketches and mailed them to myself and put the unopened package in my safe.

Until i hear back from this person I wont be doing anything. But in the event that they are legitimate how should i go about wholesale?

Any advice is much appreciated. I never though i would have an offer like this so it has kind of taken me by surprise.

10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / octopod of awesome on: February 22, 2010 01:48:00 PM
I made this octopus for my brother. He lives in TN now and we are in KS so we don't get to see him as often as we would like. So this trip he took home an octopus friend for his new apartment. Its pretty big and has long legs. Just the right size for a small couch.

Giving my bro's brains a hug

Hanging out on my couch.
