2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Bacon And Egg Scarf! on: June 21, 2011 04:28:51 PM
Made this scarf for myself in late winter early spring. Then when I went to pick up my Son from school his music teacher liked it so much I gave it to her.

The pattern is from Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies. That book is packed full of kick ass food patterns and Twinkie Chan is super cute.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / "Chichen Coup" on: June 21, 2011 03:59:09 PM
After almost a year of casual chat about getting some backyard chickens my husband finally took to the idea. So we went from talking about having chickens to me having the entry of my house turned into a chicken haven. As the girls got bigger the husband got to work on a chicken coop for them. He took a 7 day vacation and worked up his own basic design. With a bit of advice and help from our DIY neighbors this is what we made.

All put together with Isabella standing in front to show an idea of the size.

Egg door!

We used branches from a tree trimming as perches rather then getting rods from the hardware store. And just a few days ago added another perch up higher as we had a chicken who was getting into the roof area and we didnt want her to fall out of the corner and get hurt.

The inside is roomie enough for a 6 year old.

Side window, there is also a smaller window on the back of the coop.

Chicken door with ramp

Two of the origional three Nugget Sisters. One ended up being a brother lol.

And the new babys! 3 days old

We will have 6 in total with any luck the new chicks are all growing up to be hens so we wont have to take any back. The coop has been named the "Chichen Coup" and my husband is now working on signs for it.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rocket Popsicle Scarf on: January 08, 2011 04:16:24 PM
This worked up so quick! I got Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies a few days ago and love it. I happened to have the right colors on hand for the Rocket Popsicle Scarf. I had to learn a new stitch but it wasn't to hard with the book and a few youtube videos.

My lovely model is my Daughter Isabella.

I cant wait to work on some of the other projects in the book!

And whats better then a bomb pop scarf to remind me of great summer days when I'm freezing my booty off during Kansas winters.

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Marty the Adorable Amigurumi Sprinkled Cupcake on: October 17, 2010 07:48:24 PM

7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Glitz Child Pageant Cotume--How to make a crown? on: October 12, 2010 07:02:29 AM
If your not stuck on making it yourself you might just ask around. I know my mom had a basement full of my old crowns from when i was a kid. And a few years after i got married she gave them away to the little girls in her neighborhood for dress up. So someone you know might have some just sitting around.
