1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / plain white t-shirt on: December 18, 2008 08:41:42 PM
hi, so im not sure if this is in the correct spot - but i figured it is clothing so its ok  Grin
i bought a plain white v-neck t-shirt for $5 that needed a little love,
therefore i freehanded some sparrows on the back then a ghostship on the front and now i love it!
they were outlined in blue highlighter and then gone over with a black sharpie .
the 2 back sparrows

the progress of the ghost-ship

the ghost ship all done.....for now

p.s. do any of you guys know if this will stand up to being washed in the washing machine?
2  COOKING / Dessert / well i think something is a little fishy here.. on: May 23, 2008 09:17:23 PM
hi,
so me and a friend have our birthday's on the same day (born at the same time too, just different time zones!) but im never here to celebrate with her. We deicided that this year we were going to celebrate turning 21 about 1.5months early and by going to see dallas green (<3) preform. Well since it was a birthday celebration we decided that we needed a cake to go with it, o here it is....
its a chocolate cake with a chocolate/raspberry/creamcheese mousse filling and frosting
and i used marshmallow fondant to cover it
p.s. this was my first time making and using fondant, and i love it!
many more fondant cakes to come Smiley

3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Hot Sauce Tasting Gift Basket on: May 14, 2008 07:52:11 PM
some type of dairy item to cool the heat from the hot sauce!
*if they eat dairy*
so maybe have some cheese cubes out, or milk shakes, or like the above post said some nachos and then have sour cream and salsa with them Smiley
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / need recipes for 3000km bike trip! on: May 14, 2008 02:29:48 PM
hey guys,
so in 16 days i leave with 30 people from the amazing organization global agents for change (www.globalafc.org) *if im not allowed to have the website up please feel free to delete it and sorry if i broke any rules by posting it up* for a 3000km bike trip from Vancouver, Canada to Tijuana, Mexico all as a way to raise awarness of global poverty and funds for micro-credit.

..anyways, most our meals will be provided by generous hosts in the towns that we will be staying in, however we will have to cook some of our own meals sometimes so im asking you fellow craftsters if you have any great recipies for dinner that are decently cheap to make, feed 30 hungry bikers and have decent nutritional value.
They can be included meat but veggie recipies are prefered Smiley p.s.we already have a great chilli recipie Smiley
thanks!!
5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: who needs cake when you can have sushi on: March 13, 2008 10:08:21 PM
feel free to steal the idea and im positive it will be just as yummy if not yummier
just a hint though, for the seaweed part..you need ALOT of food colouring..
i added a whole bunch of yellow red and green with blue to try and get it a that colour
and the icing was just plain buttercream (1/2 cup butter, 3 cups icing sugar, approx 1 tblsp milk and vanilla and whipped to hell and back)
good luck with the cake and post pictures!

8  COOKING / Dessert / who needs cake when you can have sushi on: February 28, 2008 09:21:39 PM
my friends birthday is tomorrow
and she is a leap year baby so instead of turning 20 she is turing 5
we both live in vancouver and LOVE the fact that we have such an abundance of sushi
and i decided that nothing says happy birthday like sushi!

so the cake itself is a chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse layers (x4) and strawberriers in the middle layer
the outside (seaweed) is made of buttercream icing, with quite a lot of green/red/blue food colouring
the rice is shredded coconut
and the filling of the sushi is just fruit gummy candies
wasabi is more of the green icing and ginger is super thin slices of strawberries
ENJOY!
