21  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Late, late Mother/Father day posting on: August 07, 2008 08:27:37 PM
I made these for mom and dad, took pics after I had delivered but they unfortunately were not able to attach them to a E-mail to send to me... Undecided

Lessons learned ***
1.Take pics BEFORE giving  Shocked
2.Make sure lighting is good and avoid shade for pictures.  Roll Eyes

22  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Take a Breath (image heavy) on: August 06, 2008 09:56:28 PM
I saw a plaque similar to this in a sales magazine and ever since then I have had this saying itching in the corner of my mind.  I'm one of those people that take work to heart and take it home with me also (in my mind Tongue)
On many occasion my fantastic husband will say (after my ranting) "Honey, your not at work anymore".
This challenge came up and even after much brain-storming I kept coming back to this saying...  Smiley
So after a month of stitching here we are.  Cheesy

I used stem stitch, split stitch, leaf stitch, lazy daisy, French knots, satin stitch, and whipped spider web.  I also added some beads for the spots on the shrooms, used clear beads on the ferns to look like dew, and a little bead accent above the triple moon.

I truly hope that you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed creating.  Cheesy
23  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Image heavy- Crazy fruit towels on: June 19, 2008 07:54:17 PM
So I have developed a serious love of old patterns.  I love to collect them online and in my closet/box.  There is just something about them that is so honest and often a little bizarre.  Thats how I felt about these patterns- sort of crazy fruits either getting ready to be eaten.   Cheesy

But they made me smile so I knew they were the right ones to do!
I love them so.

Run apple Run!

Pineapple in/out of can (I can't decide)

Step right up Mr. Pear

Orange lady is ready to be cut in half become juice (my husbands favorite)

I love the Drunk Grapes

And a pair or happy cherries

I found these fantastic patterns here:

And would say thank you to them for having them available!  Grin

Hello all.
I've been working on these curtain(s) and am still in the process of panel 1.  But I finished this section of it and.. Darn it, I think it's cute.  I was inspired by Mystic Mushrooms patterns and some of the fantastic embroidery projects I've seen here.

Here was a progress shot

And here is the finished little man in his little spot.

My plan is to compliment him with a little wife on the other curtain panel...  but I have much more stitching on this side before that.   Wink

It is sort of my version of a sampler.  I'm trying all different kinds of stitches and techniques.  My only wish is the pics wouldn't be so blury- no Digital Camara for me, just my hubbys PDA device.  Roll Eyes
