1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: help clothe the incredible shrinking saucer head!! on: March 06, 2008 11:10:00 AM
i decided the bunny's got have to stay nekkid until i hit the craft store.  i tried crochet clothes, but they're too bulky when the ami is so small.

for now, still experimenting with head shrinking.....

sounds great!  but i definitely don't have enough yarn to fill a priority box.  lol.  maybe i'll have to do a mini swap and use a priority envelope (the large kind).

hehe thanks guys.  I just tried another couple rounds of head shrinking and they were both bust.

funny, i was thinking overalls too...but was trying to avoid it since it's so much more work than the little dresses the other ones have.  ah well..!

heh...the rollerskates are fantastic.  and he's getting them.
7  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: Self-Contained Craft Packets--need ideas on: March 04, 2008 06:05:13 PM
hello...just my two cents.

a great self contained packet would be quick amigurumi....some scrap yarn, a crochet hook and a little felt and off you go..

i'll find a couple of quickie patterns online and post back if you're interested.

hm....is there a round 2 forthcoming?  I'm finally swap eligible and am dying to get some inspiration from my fellow ami enthusiasts.
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / help clothe the incredible shrinking saucer head!! on: March 04, 2008 04:58:47 PM
here's my first experiment with shrinking the saucer head down a little bit.  (the other two i've posted before but they're just there for scale now to show shrinkage)
i had trouble the first few times because shrinking while keeping the proportion of the saucer head gets tricky for a crochet newb like moi.

(i came across a formula for calculating increases and decreases in a blog about a month ago and can't find it again...if anyone reads this and knows what i'm talking about would you mind posting the link?  thanks!)

he/she is still naked.  i can't decide what to make for clothing.  suggestions needed, solicited, and appreciated!!

so far all i know is he/she has a green grocery bag since the other two got mice.

stay tuned for the next saucer headed ami...
