1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Pumpkin Scissors cosplay help on: August 03, 2010 04:07:24 PM
My boyfriend has decided that he really wants us to cosplay Alice and Randel from Pumpkin Scissors for Anime NebrasKon in November. I think it would be really cool, but I'm not sure how to go about making the uniforms. Randel's uniform looks like this: http://animac-cosplay.com/images/cos/COS-0297.jpg. Alice's is pretty much the same, except it's orange-ish (http://animac-cosplay.com/images/cos/COS-0298.jpg). Do you think it would work if I found a pattern for a trench coat or something and modified it? I've never actually sewed something using a pattern before, so I'm not sure if trying to modify one is a good idea, but I'm willing to give it a shot Smiley
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / 1940's style clothes on: October 22, 2008 08:51:31 PM
My sorority is having a semi-formal next month and the theme is 1940's. Does anyone know where I could find good ideas/tutorials/patterns to make something to wear? Thanks so much!
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Dr. The Reverend Ralph the Destroyer of Worlds on: July 28, 2008 12:58:39 AM
...that is the name my silly boyfriend gave the sock monkey i made him. i don't know why.

this was my first sock monkey attempt...i used knee socks...which means that Ralph now has ridiculously long limbs. his tail is literally 3 times the length of his body. other than that, he turned out pretty good for a first attempt.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / jeans to skirt...unoriginal, i know (first post) on: July 27, 2008 09:40:38 PM
so...i made a skirt from a pair of jeans i didn't particularly like. i used the fabric from the legs to make a cute little pleated ruffle thingy. i think it turned out pretty good, considering i've never tried anything like this before and i'm pretty new to sewing. the only thing i don't like is the folded over crotch thing...if that makes sense...i tried to do it differently but it kept getting all weird and poofing out and i got mad and kinda gave up. but yeah, over all i think it's a pretty cute recon.

um, i hope these links work...this is my first time trying this...
