2  green scarf for the irish boy in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ruby soho on: February 03, 2005 11:42:01 AM
i just completed this scarf for my ... andy. he is a good boy. i hope he likes the colour green. what DO dudes like anyway? any ideas? if there ARE any boys looking at this, please tell me yo honest opinion. do you like it?

it is simply one part wool  to one part felt with felt stars sewn onto it ala sewing machine ...and i think that double needle detail you cant really see takes the cake

3  my cooky shirt ... it is cool if it is unfinished in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ruby soho on: February 03, 2005 11:16:56 AM
"i never thought anyone would ever buy that fabric!"

that is what the lady at fabric land told me about the brown houndstooth print. what shallow creativity. welll anyway here it is, i used a patter, but changed it alot cuz it was so pass ...

i didnt really finish the neckline, but honestly, i dont mind.

take a look, read a book, learn to cook, get a nook ....

5  no more boring walls in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ruby soho on: January 18, 2005 09:48:24 PM
i made this frame from cardboard (i reinforced the corners with carpenters glue) covered in fabric from old bed sheets and felt flowers and buttons ...
chain stitch is the stich to use in my opionion
on the back i twisted enough floss to go around the whole frame and i pinned the twisted stuff to each corner so that the frame is hangable from any direction

7  my grande accepted portfolio in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by ruby soho on: January 18, 2005 09:21:42 PM
(im not sure this is the right sub-cat, but....)

my portfolio, although full of art inside, was greatly lacking on the outside ... so i made this very simple cover for it that like a giant folding over pocket for all my loose sheets of art ...
vintage buttons, felt and some embroidery made my acceptance into crafts and desing at sheridan a piece of very delicious cake!

i seriously encourage anyone who is applying into the field (or not) to let their creativity rule, and not the man.

that is my name at the bottom in yellow

8  field o' flowers on my skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ruby soho on: January 18, 2005 09:02:36 PM
hello craftster 'hood ...
i had these shoddy jeans right and i though miniskirts are so hot right now (no, i dont really know that as a fact) and i yelled abra cadabra ala peanut butter sandwhiches and poof ... there was a plain jane skirt which was just begging for me to bring it to life and this is what i came up with ...

cut out some pretty felt (wool is de rigeur) flowers and doodle your heart out with a permenent fabric marker... i used a sewing machine, but a blanket stitch by hand would do

i wear this and people like it, they think i am all crafty, and how can i not be if i am a craftster.org member?
