1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pattern help on: June 30, 2010 06:13:47 AM
Thank goldy! I love that one, but I feel the long 'sleeve' is more dramatic. I think I will go with layers
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Pattern help on: June 30, 2010 04:40:57 AM
Hello!

I have always been in love with the old Halston Grecian dresses, but like so many of us I don't have the money for one.

I love this style

but I like it a bit longer, this was what I was thinking

(VERY quick drawing, I usually do better)

So my question is, how do I pattern it? Mainly the long side, I don't really want to go half nekkid! Would it be doing two layers? Should I sew the side beneath the arm hole?  Undecided

Please advise!!!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Winter Coat on: November 04, 2009 02:01:47 AM
I'm planning on making my own winter coat this year, which is a bit ambitious as I've never done anything like that.

This is the drawing I made (please excuse quality, my software is crap)

My intention is to make it in a nice boucle in reds, with a contrasting lining, since the collar folds down and the sleeves are open and you can see the inside:

I need some advice regarding pattern drafting and also, I've never lined a coat. Any advice on that?

6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: how to make a cheap candle mould? on: May 21, 2009 08:59:53 AM
A really cool candle i used to make a lot is using dishwashing gloves with wicks in each finger. You fill it up with red wax, let it cool a little bit and when it starts to stiffen you can pose it. One it's cold you dip it in warm (not hot) skin color wax. Once it's cooled you can give it nails, decorate it, whatever. And when it starts to melt, it looks like it's bleeding. I make them for halloween parties

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: New doll dress and wig on: February 17, 2009 02:20:45 AM
This is probably a silly question but, did you make the doll, or can you buy them and then paint them? Where do you get them?

It's absolutely amazing, I love it. Are the horns made of poly clay?
Thanks!

I have quite a few Patrones and Burdas as well. What would you want to exchange them for?
