11  Re: To cut or not to cut? in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by LiquidScissors on: April 03, 2005 09:58:23 PM
My hair is super hard to deal with (check out my icon picture), that is how thick my hair is naturally, no teasing or whatever except its even longer now!!
and i want to cut it short because its so hard to deal with plus its so hot in the summer anywayz!
but i don't want to cut it and have the stereotypical "afro".
this is me (i don't even know if short hairstyles will look good on my long narrow face)

i wish my hair could look something like this....

but even if i cut it, it will still be curly...and that will look weird
anyway <a href="bottom%20line" onmouseover="window.status='bottom line'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">bottom line</a>....Do you crafters think that I can pull off a short style and if so, what should it look like??

Holy woly!  I just had my friend at school cut my hair like naima from top model.  I was so obsessed with her hair!! It doesnt look the same, because one of our instructors came and screwed it up before we even started, trying to show my friend some razor technique....it sucked.  oh well it grows.  And WOW I love your hair!!!  It is super rad!!  I think you could cut it short, but would definatley have to have it relaxed, and even then would have to flar iron it everytime you wash it.  Its too bad I dont live closer! I would do it all for free, I love hair!!!  You could cut it really short and have Bantu knots, I think those look really cool, and you wouldnt have to relax your hair cause they work better on highly textured natural hair anyway!

AHhhhhhhrrrrr.....I'm alive!  I am so sorry DithMer... that is took me so long to do this!  I have been sick with who knows what for the past 2 weeks, I got it right after I took all those tests for school.  stress I guess.  who knows!!!!  anyway!!!  I didnt get pictures of everything, because my mom decided to burn the candle and I think she has my bath salts hostage... mothers!

anyways...

This sleep mask fits so well, its like she measured my skull or something, but didnt...

These are the 2 wrist cuffs she made, I really like the pearly one, and they both fit great!

I think these are so cute, they are little origami earrings.  cranes I think right?

This picture is kinda crappy, but its a little fishy necklace! I love fish btw, so its awesome!

This picture really doesnt do this mirror justice, because it is really beautiful.  I wish I had a better digital camera.  I will have my brother take one with his nice expensive camera for you dithmer, so you can have a good copy.

Sorry it took my so long!!!!!!!!!
and please forgive my stone age dig camera.

15  Lite Brite duct tape braclet! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by LiquidScissors on: January 18, 2005 12:08:03 AM
I have so many Lite Brite pegs laying around, falling all over the place, and making a huge mess.  Half of them have been eatin by the vacume by now, yet I still have so many.  I made this braclet out of ducttape, added a snap closure with my cool snap closure do-dader... er... and then I glued the pegs on with e6000.  The green pegs are longer then all the rest, which really bothered me at first!! but now i kinda like it... yeah.

16  Hooters AirPlane, Surgeon General Warning Duct Tape Chokers. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by LiquidScissors on: January 18, 2005 12:01:29 AM
I made these two chokers for a friend of mine.

Yep.  Untill this very day, I was very unaware of the Hooters plane.  Feast your eyes.  =I

I am glad that someone is watching over us, thank you Surgeon.  Even though my friend smokes... maybe THIS will convince her otherwise!  =P

I couldnt find my peanut container filled with all my necklace crap, so i used yarn and saftey pins which is a-ok with me.  Random beads.  Maxim.  yarn. safteypins. clear packaging tape. fun.

18  Air Plane Barrett in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by LiquidScissors on: January 09, 2005 01:13:28 PM
I made this Barrett out of an Air Plane Micro Machine.  I have made some micro machine car and truck ones as well.  They are lots of fun!!!

I just took an old Barrett (the plain ones that come in the packs with all the other kinds, like flower, butterflys and ribbons, etc) and glued the plane on with e6000, and let it dry barrett side up over night.  I checked it a few times whilest drying because of the wheels on the plane it likes to slip, but once the glue gets a little tacky you can really set it in place.

The picture is a little blurry, but you get the idea.

19  Stencil-Type Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by LiquidScissors on: January 06, 2005 05:34:07 PM
This is just an Idea I think would be kinda fun, to do a swap where everyone involved uses the same stencil to make a tshirt with, and put their own spin on it.

I made this Napoleon Dynamite shirt for my boyfriends sister for xmas.  I just added little circles I cut out of felt and sewed on.  Stuff like that.  We're all very crafty and I think could come up with some pretty unique things, all based on the same concept which I think is kinda cool.

Let me know.  =)
