41  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Shirring, birds, yellow ribbon and a kool-aid mustache..pic heavy on: March 07, 2008 11:50:31 AM
Once again, I tried to make something, goofed it up, and and ended up with something else.  I was going to make a shirred dress for my 2 yr old DD.  Between supper, diapers, scraps over the computer, and general caos and confusion, I screwed it up and ended up making this outfit.  My older DD is modeling it bc the little one just doesn't feel the need apparently.  There isn't a whole lot of difference in size anyway.

OH, BTW, this is my very first attempt at shirring so there won't be any close-ups of the details Grin.  This outfit generally kicked my arse in everyway possible, but I am learning patience, and I think it looks pretty cute on.

I don't know what she thinks she doing in this pic, LOL she likes to pose.

Sorry if the pics are too big, photobucket changed there editing thing and it's takes forever and is a huge pain in the bum!  Thanks for looking, though!
42  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Anyone sew swimsuits? on: March 05, 2008 01:32:03 PM
I got a boatload of lycra and spandex and other sparkley dance costume material for free and i thought it would make some pretty flashy swimsuits.  Does anyone know of a good tute or pattern.  I am not super serger efficient, but I figure if I start trying to make them now, by the time it's warm enough, i'll have made some that are useable Cheesy  My DDs are 5,2, and 13 if you know any good patterns or tutes for those sizes.

Thanks!
43  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Men's XXXL shirt to size 4 girly outfit on: March 03, 2008 10:01:28 PM
I found this really nice shirt at Goodwill on half off day.  I wanted to make a dress, but I jacked that up Undecided  Anywho, I salvaged what I could and made this.  I also made some shorts for my 1 yr old DS and have some overalls I am embellishing with the fabric for him and an initial shirt to match.

She's at some weird angle in all the pics so it looks kinda wonky in some places, but it really isn't (for once  Cheesy )  This is my first recon so I'm kinda happy ith myself Grin

P.S. ignore the smeary glass, the little ones were using it like an art easel

46  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Food themed bibs on: February 22, 2008 07:01:29 PM
I love applique and patchwork so I incorporated them both Smiley

The candy one is bit uneven at the bottom if you look close, but I think it is still cute.

47  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / lil' crumb bandit..Sorry wrong forum on: February 22, 2008 01:20:15 PM
Sorry.  I'm usually in here.  I meant to post this in the ink jet iron forum Embarrassed  Oops!

I have been working on some different designs for kid friendly shirts.  My little Lukey inspired this one and seems to be fairly proud of it!   Grin

Sorry, the pics are kinda shoddy, but you get the point Smiley
48  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Trying my hand at decoupage on: February 08, 2008 06:03:07 PM
I thought I would try my hand at decoupaging jeans.  There wasn't really a lot to decoupage and they haven't been washed for that extra special frayed look, but I thought I would share anyway.  They were a bit small for the little guy before I got around to making them, but I stuffed him in them anyway to model.  He didn't seem to mind Grin
