So far I have received from Rock Cave Mom, Kittymom13, A2K, Meganlorraine, lissablair, Missing Willow, Southern Flower, and Princesspimp81 for a grand total of 8/14.  Not too shabby and the blocks I've already received are really nice!

I'm using old white curtains for the foundation and I'm really liking the opportunity to use up my partial bobbins of random colors so I can start the new year with lots of empties.  I hope everyone likes color!!

I have no allergies and the blocks I send will be sprinkled with essence of cat hair.  I vote for sending 2 blocks to the whole group.  6.5" blocks aren't very big so 30 blocks will only make a crib or REALLY small lap sized quilt, depending on sashing and composition preferences.

I can't wait to start and send out blocks!!

How on earth did you get the fret placement? Is there a site where they have it all mapped out? This is awesome- I have a friend that would love this just need to figure out a song ;-D

Yes!  It would have been *really* difficult without the song charts.

For songs on GH 3:  http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=62
For songs on GH 2: http://web.purplefrog.com/~thoth/guitar-hero/

Also, if you have the time and patience you can watch YouTube videos and make your own map.

For this scarf I think I did a little cutting.  I didn't start at the beginning but looked at the chart and picked the "prettiest" (i.e. busiest) part of the song to get enough color and notes on the scarf.  For other scarves I've done I also omit parts where there are no notes and do a little creative cutting/pasting.

And thanks, everyone, for the crafty love!

I love yours!!! What song did you use?  I think the fleece is a wonderful idea! LOVE it!

I was making one for my son, knit, and all the buttons were crochet....headache!

I thought about using actual buttons...but that gets expensive!

I've actually crocheted another GH scarf and I crocheted all the buttons, so I feel your pain.

The song is "Through Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce.

Yeah, now I want one too!  Maybe I'll do "Hier kommt Alex"...

Who am I kidding, I think I'm too impatient to do all the circles, but it's a fantastic idea!

I thought I'd get sick of all the little circles too but it's a good project to do while watching TV and the more I completed the more excited I got to finish it.

Ta da!  A Guitar Hero Scarf!

First, I knit a striped scarf using Lion Homespun yarn in dark gray and holiday white

Then I cut out lots of little circles from fleece.

I stacked them on top of each other to make the buttons and sewed them together, then placed them on my scarf to the tune of "Through Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce (difficulty: hard).

Sew them all on, then edge the whole scarf with the holiday white to finish it and voila!  A soft and geeky scarf.

It's about 6.5 ft long and very warm and soft.  I'm extremely please with how it turned out.
Thanks for looking!
