1  She's crafty! in CHALLENGE 55 ENTRIES by missmiserylovesyou on: October 06, 2010 01:19:51 PM
I was so happy to see this contest! I just love Mama. I knew right away I wanted to do a cross stitching project. It took FOREVER but she's finally done!!!

She took just about a month. It was a fun project, but I found out the hard way that bleach is NOT the way to go to remove stains from aida cloth (turns it yellow). Anyone know a good solution for stains?

just some detail shots

I hope you like it! Can't wait to put her up on my wall!

2  Stitching with sugar in CHALLENGE 41 ENTRIES by missmiserylovesyou on: August 01, 2009 03:17:10 PM
When I saw the challenge for this month I was so excited! I've really been wanting to try making a cake with fondant so I figured now would be a great time to do it. And when I thought of which craft to do I knew it would be cross stitching since I have a small obsession with it right now ^_^. I made the cake from scratch with a simple recipe I had and then made my first batch of marshmellow fondant ever. I thought it would be really hard to pull of but it's surprisingly simple. It did end up being a huge mess thought! After I covered the cake I rolled out sections of pink fondant and cute small sections to be the thread. Then I got each piece slightly wet with water so it would stick to the white fondant. It took me about 3 hours to complete the whole thing but it was worth it! Plus it tasted really good! Now...the pictures!

And the cake with a piece gone. The moment I was done with the cake and pictures my fiancee insisted on trying it.

Thanks for looking! Hope you liked it. =^_^=
