I recieved from pioneer9 today! I got the most amazing little beauty! she is so sweet, and has a little bat friend to keep her company.

She reminds me of Edward Gorey's work, which i love!

I love all the little details, her stitched mouth, little bows and even shoelaces!

Thank you so much! I love her to pieces

4  Rit dye troubles in Dyeing: Discussion and Questions by PromisedHeartbrk on: June 13, 2016 12:17:34 AM
Ok i have a question for my crafty friends here.... i used liquid rit dye on 100% cotton (a combo of the magenta and purple dye). When I dyed my fabric it was the exact shade of purple I wanted. Even after heat setting, washing and drying it. When i went to iron it, the heat turned it pink.

Did I do something wrong? Ive used rit before and never had this problem so i was just curious since i still need purple fabric.

Can i dye it again? Maybe with more purple in the mix? Honestly im at a complete loss here.
I do have a pic, not the best, but its 3am so no natural light available.t he bottom section is the color i wanted and the top is what it turns into when ironed.

Just a doodle i decided to stitch, wanted to play with variegated thread. I think it came out decent even though everything was just eyeballed.

I recieved from the wonderful Mellius today! I have to admit I spent most of my morning peeking out the front door waiting for the tell-tale thud of a package drop-off on my porch  Cheesy
I got an awesome package let me tell you what!
First up are  two amazingly cross stitched towels that hours later still have me crackin up. Word play always makes me giggle  Tongue

Eeeeeeee!!!! So excited over them! Frankie is my man!
Next up is a few extras... awesome vintage Halloween paper and some great stickers (I have plans for both already)

Now we have a cute hat that both my daughter and i are going to be fighting over for awhile.... excuse the awful pic of me but i had to show that i have my old black cat tattooed on myself. Black cats are near and dear to my heart

My little munchkinnbutt definitely pulls it off a lot better than i can.
Thank you so much for everything! It was awesome swapping with you Mellius Smiley

9  girly ironman in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by PromisedHeartbrk on: May 21, 2016 07:56:44 AM
not sure if this would go here or on another board, let me know and ill switch it if need be.

My three yer old LOVES all things glittery. She also loves pretending to be Ironman. so for her birthday i decided to glitter up an iron man face for her. She LOVES it, to the point i get to take a glittery mini iron man to the grocery store.... A lot.
She. will. not. take. it. off.
I think I did a good job on this gift lol. It took about 10-15 coats of glitter paint (about 4 would have cut it but I wanted GLITTER with capital letters), and I refused to use loose glitter. I knew that she would be handling it a ton and didn't want glitter everywhere.
I figured Id post it here, even though i didn't really "do" all that much but maybe one of you amazing craftsters have a lil girl who may like something like this. It was a definite winning project to make the kiddo happy. To be honest I get more compliments from guys on it then women lol!
onto the glittery glittery girly man..

these photos dont even to justice to how much glitter there is lol
hope you enjoy my goofy little project

10  Harry Potter Deck of cards (image HEAVY) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by PromisedHeartbrk on: May 21, 2016 07:37:19 AM
I made this deck of cards for the Fill a small box harry potter swap.
This took me hours to create on the computer, then my computer crashed. Sooooo it took hours all over again but I was not going to let this awesome project idea go to waste. The final project was a little different from the first one i created, only because I had to use a friends computer and they had a different "word" than I was used to. All in all, the second time designing didn't take nearly as long but all the bells and whistles did get lost due to time constraints. An example of one big change was that on the first set I had everything lined up so the backs would be printed directly onto the back of the front. The second set I printed onto a full page sticker sheet and cut them out and stuck them to the backs of the fronts. (i tried and tried but could NOT line everything up the second time grrrr!!!) Angry In doing that, this deck is harder to actually play cards with, the shuffling is off and the cards are definitely thicker then standard playing cards.
I plan to one day try again on this project. It has potential to be really pretty cool if i could figure out fixes for a few little errors.

I did not match characters to houses/suits because there was just not enough/to many characters to choose from. (it bothered me too lol)

ok on to an abundance of photos!

the back of the cards pre-cutting them out.

who else could be the jokers?

hope you enjoyed my project  Smiley Smiley Smiley
