some of my favorite paqes:

the art quotes i think may be either taken out or photocopied so i can hang them in my art room! I love them....

3  The 10pound key corset that almost was... in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by PromisedHeartbrk on: May 05, 2012 10:00:20 AM
Yes this is an almost was post. I ended up ripping the grommets out of the side while trying to lace it up so i have to figure out a way to fix it before it can be worn. i was to excited about this not to post it anyway.
I was attempting to make an underbust corset kind of like the vest the Russian wears in the movie "the darkest hour". I waited months to watch this movie and as soon as i saw it (about halfway through the movie) i ended up missing the rest of the movie trying to figure out how to construct it.

anyway enough yammering... its got a duct tape base that was wrapped around my body then cut off. I then spray glued fabric onto the outside (all i had was white duct tape and i wanted a black background). I then hot glued and stitched a little over 200 keys to the base.  it was probably the first time anyone in history has muttered "if i don't have enough keys i'm entirely too fat" but i didn't have enough keys anyway,,, i was off by 5-10.

on to the pictures:

Im going to try to fix it eventually. right now though its going in the WIP drawer because my fingers are raw from stitching through 3 layers of duct tape  Roll Eyes

I received from la chapa today! she chose my cupcake theme and i'm so in love with it!
on to the awesome piece:

I hope that worked, I haven't posted a photo in forever!
but isnt it awesome? I love the little bead sprinkles Smiley  I think I will be using it as a magnet in the kitchen, most of my cupcake themed stuff makes it in there anyway.

6  Hit pink and lime green monstrosity... block help needed! in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by PromisedHeartbrk on: July 16, 2008 07:56:05 PM
Ive been slowly finding my fabric stash from different places, fabric i've bought for projects that never saw the light of day and to be completely honest don't even remember what half the projects were.

So Ive figured out I have a TON of hot pink and lime green (my fav colours right now) so I was to make a quilt.... about queen sized. I sat down with graph paper and figured out a pattern I liked... spent a LOOOONG time doing this... I show the boyfriend and his first response is "it looks like one of those pot holders... u know the ones u do on the loom"  Roll Eyes

Sooo... now i'm clueless if its gunna be a nifty pattern or just look like a freakin huge potholder...  Grin

Here is a quick paint illustration of the pattern:

PLEASE help lol... I have a few other patterns in mind but they require WAY more black fabric and I kind of want this to be a bright quilt muted by the black instead of the other way around.

AND.... im still deciding if i want to use one piece for the black instead of 2 squares... what do you guys think for a first time quilter?
much thanks in advance.

7  Huge project... felting, zippers, hidden pockets, doll clothing HELP!!! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by PromisedHeartbrk on: June 27, 2008 03:56:13 PM
Ok so a friend of mine asked me to make a gnome doll (from WoW) and I have never really made a Somewaht human shaped doll. So I decided Ill make a test doll with a ton of lil projects to include in it this way i learn a ton from it. SOoooo.... I called my ex roomate and told  him he is now an experiment and Id give him the results.

Ok so far my list of things for this project is:
wet felting
needle shaping
Human shaped doll
possibly tea dieing (if i can get a skin tone)
a secret pocket
A zipper
button jointed arms
And last but not least the shape of the head (which scares me the most)

So my list is huge and I have never done any of these things... I did a quick sketch of how i want it to look (kinda a crappy scan) but I want it to be about 12inches tall.

any kind of tips, tricks... I need lol I have no where to start I cant really find any patterns I like for the body and haven't found a single head pattern that I like... I want kind of a round head (ball shaped I guess) but i don't know how to get a nose out of a ball.
And does anyone know where i can maybe find a 12x12 (or even 8x8) piece of fabric that looks like a bandanna that black and has skulls or swords on it (anything gothy really)?

Much thanks to anything anyone can help with.

9  Mechanical tear choker in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by PromisedHeartbrk on: April 11, 2008 10:18:14 PM
Wow this piece is OLD... but still one of my most favorite items that I have made
the design is an "A" and a "J" morphed together... turned into a tear looking symbol... But I was dating a guy named Jesse and I  made it for his birthday
(funny thing now is I'm dating a guy named Jeremy and I can still wear this cause it works... I never did give this to jesse lol)

But its made from a small sheet of brass I believe, and I sawed, filed, and buffed this piece...
Only problem is... The point on the top is SHARP! I wore this to a club and ended up with a bloody hole in my throat cause of it... Oh well the things people will go threw to show off their work right lol  Grin

10  Art Journal cover... simplistic self-portrait in Needlework: Completed Projects by PromisedHeartbrk on: April 11, 2008 08:17:44 PM
Yeah exactly what it says  Roll Eyes this is a long one... scroll down to see the goods!

After about a year I decided it was time to start a new art journal... having completed my old one (THAT took stamina Roll Eyes ) Anyway... having moved like 6 times in the year I had to search high and low for the book I had bought for it... Basically a one-inch thick black canvas covered lined notebook (from borders if you know what im talking about the $7 one not the $3)
Well I found it after a week of searching only to find out I must have tried... (yes tried) to stencil in my sleep on it. Because it was horrid. Well I dug threw my fabric stash and found a thick black felt and whip stitched a nice(er) cover for it.
Wellll..... An art journal cant be blank on the outside... that wont spark my creativity... after hours of looking for a pattern I liked I found nothing and decided to just do a self portrait.

This is only the second needlepoint thing I have done.
The weird green/blueish things on the left are holographic shiny prettty buttons  Grin... lol my scanner did not like them.

I think this may be my business card image for my "company" (manakinn's kiss)

Well tell me what u think...
