1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Acrylica on: June 22, 2005 02:54:30 PM

Where can I buy sheets of coloured acrylic?   I want colourful acrylic boxes to hold stuff in my bathroom, but I can't find some anywhere, so I want to make them!

A store in Canada or an online store would both work....
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Harry Potter fans, you are my only hope!! on: June 05, 2005 09:09:03 PM
I work in a book store, so if I never heard the words "Harry Potter" again, it would be too soon.

However, by some cruel twist of fate, I have been put in charge of decorating the store for the day of the release of the new Harry Potter book.  I desperately need some crafty ways to do this!  There is a very limited budget.

My only idea so far is to reprint our returns policy on old, scrolly-looking paper with "By order of the Ministry of Magic" at the top.  And covering our bank symbol on the debit keypads with a sign that says "Gringott's Bank."

But I need to decorate the whole store!  I'm so sick of HP I want to puke, but I've got a lot on the line.  Please help me brainstorm, crafty and creative HP fans!!   Channel the Harry!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Garden / Potted Plant Decoration! on: May 17, 2005 01:49:14 PM
To spruce up a garden or potted plant, you can stick in swizzle sticks!  You could even attach a label to the stick - "Peas," "Catgrass," etc.

My sister has a collection of cute glass stir sticks - maybe she will let me steal some!

I have my first (tiny) garden ever, so I'm excited!  Does anyone else have crafty garden decoration ideas?
4  CANADA / Alberta / Calgary - LILAC FESTIVAL booths? on: May 16, 2005 07:45:19 PM

Has anyone here ever had a booth at the Lilac Festival?  I'm considering registering, but I'd really like some feedback before I cough up $50 for a booth...

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Slip Cover on: May 15, 2005 07:18:30 PM

I'm not very good at sewing, but my couch is uuuuuuuugly!  Does anyone know how to make a simple slip cover?
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Silk Flowers Online? on: May 15, 2005 07:16:02 PM

Does anyone know of a good place to buy silk flowers online?

I'd prefer wholesale - I have a business liscence, if necessary!

Thanks!
7  CANADA / Alberta / CALGARY Craft Show? + Silk Flowers on: May 10, 2005 08:16:09 PM

Two questions:

1) Are there going to be any craft fairs in Calgary this summer?

2) Does anyone know of a cheap place to get silk flowers in Calgary?

8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / WARNING about shifty website on: December 31, 2004 05:24:26 PM

At the beginning of December, I placed a large order with dollarshirts.com.  I wanted some cheap shirts for Xmas gifts.  I wrote in the form that I needed them for Xmas, and to let me know if they would not get here in time.

TEN days later, my order was processed and (apparently) sent.  When I recieved the tracking info, I emailed them and said I was concerned that the shirts would not arrive in time.  They made excuses but assured me that they "definitely" would.

Today is December 31st, and the package is STILL not here.  I emailed them on Dec 24 to ask where it was, and have still not recieved a reply.

I wanted to warn other Craftsters about this totally unpleasant experience!
9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Wholesale Shirts on: November 25, 2004 11:46:19 AM

I'm looking for women's shirts with a good fit, and I need them shipped to Canada!

I tried http://dharmatrading.com/, but they only have white in the style I like.

What I really want is the American Apparel t-shirts from http://www.t-shirtwholesaler.com/, but they won't ship here.   Cry

Any ideas?
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Nintendo / Mario pictures? on: November 15, 2004 09:53:45 PM

I want to make t-shirts with iron-ons of stuff like the Star from the Mario games, or the one-up mushroom, or the Bubble Bobble guys.

But I am having a super hard time finding pictures!!  Does anyone know of a good website to get some at?  I need them to be a pretty decent size since I want them to go on shirts.....
