1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Survey: How Much Do You Pay for Yarn? on: February 29, 2008 04:55:43 PM
It does really depend on the yarn bought, but I just put in my average. I'd love to see the results when the survey is over. Also, what were the averages that the Yarn Council put out?

Thanks! I'd love to see pictures of your Nautie if you have any.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Katamari/Amish Puzzle Ball Craftalong! on: October 02, 2006 02:44:39 PM
Thanks for all your comments!

The smaller ones are much more stable, as they were able to stand without rolling.

I'm sure anyone who's interested in making the smaller ones can figure it out from the photos, but I'd be happy to explain it if anyone has questions.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A Little Nautie on: October 01, 2006 07:48:55 AM
My friend's birthday was a couple weeks ago, and I decided that I wanted to knit her Knitty's Nautie. However, not sure what she would do with a full-size Nautiloid, I made her a little Nautie.

(Although how a little nautiloid is any more useful than a large one is beyond me!)
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Katamari/Amish Puzzle Ball Craftalong! on: October 01, 2006 07:42:39 AM
I finally got around to making one of these. I'd been meaning to for a while, and yesterday I just sat down and made one. At first I had a little trouble assembling it (I wasn't actually looking at how other people had done it - I decided to wing it), so I made two smaller ones:

Of course, after I put them together, I figured out how I should have done it. So I took them apart, and sewed it back together into one.

I really should sew buttons on, but at the moment I don't have any that work well with it.

I finished my Rogue a little while ago - I'll post pictures soon!

That's really beautiful! I love that knotwork pattern so much.
8  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Candy Stripers - laptop bag on: November 24, 2005 08:00:39 AM
I posted this in the Candy Stripers knitalong, but I thought I'd post it here too:

I've got to say, I think this is one of the most confusing patterns I've ever knit from! Even just knitting it is complicated, not to mention trying to modify it.

Now that I've deciphered the instructions, I'm pretty sure I'm knitting it alright- except for one thing. In the pattern, are the finished measurements for pre or post felting?

I assumed post felting, but I measured the base of my laptop bag, and it's 16", exactly what the finished measurements say. My gauge is correct, so this led me to wonder, could the finished measurements be pre felting?

From anyone who has worked on this bag, help is greatly appreciated!
