1  A Little Nautie in Knitting: Completed Projects by Orchid on: October 01, 2006 07:48:55 AM
My friend's birthday was a couple weeks ago, and I decided that I wanted to knit her Knitty's Nautie. However, not sure what she would do with a full-size Nautiloid, I made her a little Nautie.

(Although how a little nautiloid is any more useful than a large one is beyond me!)

2  Re: Katamari/Amish Puzzle Ball Craftalong! in Craftalongs by Orchid on: October 01, 2006 07:42:39 AM
I finally got around to making one of these. I'd been meaning to for a while, and yesterday I just sat down and made one. At first I had a little trouble assembling it (I wasn't actually looking at how other people had done it - I decided to wing it), so I made two smaller ones:

Of course, after I put them together, I figured out how I should have done it. So I took them apart, and sewed it back together into one.

I really should sew buttons on, but at the moment I don't have any that work well with it.

I got my album from Princess_Dukki today, so now I have both albums! Thanks for the wonderful pictures, Princess_Dukki and Kendaljay.

(Sorry for the pictures being so big)

Here's blue from Princess_Dukki:

And here's green from Kendaljay:

This swap was so much fun!

Here's my favorite pink photo that I took:

I don't have any of Kendaljay's photos scanned in right now, but I'll post one later!

5  Duck Tape Mini Journals in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Orchid on: June 16, 2005 12:43:45 PM
Here's a bunch of mini duck (yes, I'm aware that one brand is duct, but this is a knockoff brand that makes duct tape in colors) tape journals. They're all the size of playing cards, with 48 pages each. The blue journal with the sailor button was made by my friend Two-Holed Button on Craftster.

And just curious, how much would you pay for one of them?

6  Re: Branching Out scarf knit-along in Knitalongs by Orchid on: June 01, 2005 07:33:34 PM
I finished my scarf! I'm really happy with it, even though it's much shorter than I intended. I was too stubborn to go out and buy a second ball of yarn. Unfortunately, it's going to be a gift, so I might just have to make another one for me.

An overall view:

A close up (while blocking):

Blocking does amazing things to this scarf...

7  Hatmione! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Orchid on: May 09, 2005 12:16:17 PM
Behold the Hatmione (unfortunately it's pronounced hat-my-oh-ni, not hat-my-own. Ah well, one can pretend.) Although I hate the Harry Potter movies, I did like the hat that Hermione wears in the winter. I was able to find the pattern online, as apparently I was not the only one who took a liking to it. The pattern was pretty easy to follow, but it was still interesting. It took me about four days, on and off, to knit it, and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

For the record, I am aware that I knitted a hat even though summer is just about here. But I got inspired to knit it, so I did. Unfortunately, I don't look good in it, therefore I don't have any pictures of it on. Use your imagination.

8  Granny Fabric into Pleated Skirt (tulle optional) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Orchid on: May 09, 2005 12:05:42 PM
What to do with Granny Fabric Pillowcases that are way to big for your pillows? Make them into a skirt. Or two. This skirt actually only took one pillowcase though. I was bored the other day, so I made up a pattern for this skirt.

On a duct tape dummy:

With tulle skirt underneath (sorry about the bluriness):

If you wanted to add the tulle to the actual skirt, it wouldn't be that hard.

Although this type of skirt isn't my favorite, it would look pretty nice over funky tights (striped, patterned, fishnet, etc.). Or with docs.
