Can you remind me what the challenges have been so far?

I know we had holiday, red/valentine's, and something about organizing, right?

Well, I started my scarf. It's been so long since I knit something that I had to use one of my books as a reference for how to cast on. Tongue But now it's come back to me (like riding a bike). I'm a slow knitter so it will probably take me a while.

Oh that skirt is gorgeous!

Definitely wow! I'll have to keep this in mind if/when my kid destroys the house.

Papermaking is great for kids (and adults). If you're short on space, you can mix pulp and water in a blender and then pour it on a screen that sits on top of a coffee can. It cuts down on space and mess. Just don't use your cocktail blender. You could mess it up and then what would you do?

I went to two stores looking for yarn. They each only had one color in stock. Grr. I ended up ordering it from joann.com. I figure the $5.95 shipping was worth the time and gas money I'd spend looking at other stores. So when it finally gets here I may sit and watch a movie while working on my scarf.

It looks great! I love the spool!

A word of caution to those wanting to do a pallet garden: Not only do you have to make sure it's not pressure treated for edibles, you also need to find out what it was used to transport. Pallets are often used to transport toxic chemicals and then sometimes reused for something else. So be sure your pallet was only used to transport something safe.

I really like those gerbera daisies!  They are really beautiful!  Awesome find at JoAnn's!  I'm thinking I may have to go hunt around there this week since I"m in GA.  We don't have JoAnn's in NC.

On my list...  I've had to take a break from my skirt...  I won't be back in NC to work on it until July 21 or so....  Therefore...  I'm working on Troublet's Greenman...  I think he's really pretty already!  Cheesy  I'm kind of excited for him to be done.

There is a Joann's in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. A little far to drive though.

There's also one in Durham, which is also a little far-- but then you could also visit The Scrap Exchange Grin

When I was at the store to  get my yarn, they had the soft navy in a super size skein (for $7.99!), but I looked up at the top rack and saw some in the regular size. I had to use a package of frame sections to poke one of the skeins out of the rack, and it dropped right into my arms (and didn't even bounce off of my face first Grin ).

Ha ha! I'm 5'3" ( +1/4"). I'm often tempted to just stand in the aisle and yell, "I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE!"

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to the store. Maybe Friday. There's an ac moore on the way to trader joes.

I think I'll give this a shot too. I'm not a great knitter, but I can do a pretty decent scarf.
