so, i am sure that most of you have seen those wonderfully colorful earrings with embroidery string wrapped around coils.  i was wanting to make some but i'm not sure if  i should try to buy the coil first?  if so, does anyone know where i could buy it?  if anyone has any tips i would be thrilled

i have never really felted anything, and i have this nice handspun hand-dyed yarn that's been sitting around for two years!  i am without hot pads at my house and i thought this would be a nice project.  i made one last night with size 9 needles and hand felted it.  it looks good, but there are spaces between each stitch......

question is...should i use bigger or smaller needles to get a tighter felt?   

i just don't want to ruin this nice yarn!

i made one about a year ago and can't find the pattern anymore.  i was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of Mr. Dangly?!?!?   my friend's baby shower is in a week and i really want to make her little one a monkey.
