Wow, it looks wonderfull! Lucky birthday girl
What technique did you use?? I'm makin some Art Nouveau drawings at the time, and I'm not sure which medium to use. I bought this comic drawing paper, 'cause I think watercolour paper sucks the ink up? And I was wondering what kind of pen you use? Just dipping with acryl ink? I first worked with a fountain pen, but the ink that I used is waterdilutable, so no good in combination with watercolours.
Hope you can help me out!
Thanks in advance:)
Hello thanks for the comment~
Answering your questions, I used drawing ink from Winsor & Newton - burnt umber. I like the combination of the drawing ink + watercolor paper because applying water on the paper with ink drawn image give interesting effect. The burnt umber ink breaks down the original colors that's been mixed in it. So it dilutes a tiny bit where a bit of yellow shows up.
If you pay attentention to my line drawing you'll see the yellow smudge. I personally like that effect so I take advantage of that.
And yes, I did use fountain pen to draw this. It doesn't suck up the ink, actually it's better to use ink on watercolor paper because the ink absorbs into the paper A LOT faster than any other paper so you never have the problem smudging the undried ink accidently.
Hope that helped =)
