1  New, Airport friendly Laptop Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by glambastard on: May 13, 2011 03:35:24 AM
My husband and I have started traveling more frequently lately and
I've been meaning to make a bag for my Mac. I finally got around to it
this week. I used Simplicity 3889, bag C. I had to make a few changes
to the sizing and some of the finishing. I got an idea from a photo I
saw to make one side of the bag a woven grid of elastic so I could
organize all my little accessories. Here's the pics! Comments/
critiques welcome!

So much awesomeness in one gallery!!!  MYBs are always just so fun and amazing!

I worked up the pattern that glambastard sent me last weekend:

I LOVE it.  You can't really tell in this picture, but the purse is huge and I love big bags.  I plan on lining it and adding a handle using black and white polka dot fabric, but with my wedding in one week and moving not too far after that I'm afraid that finishing the last bits of the purse probably won't happen too soon.  I WILL finish it though, it is far too cute not to.  Thanks glambastard for the awesome yarn and awesome pattern!!!  I am definitely planning on making the robot you sent me too, but again time is a little constrained right now......

yay! so cute! I gotta find time to make those arm warmers you sent me! Its hard to get in the mood for that when its 90+ degrees out already, so I may be putting it off for a few months  Tongue

9  Skirts for baby, headbands, and baby sling... in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by glambastard on: April 20, 2010 12:31:05 PM
This is actually my first post. I dont know why I've never posted anything I've made before. Oh well. My Sister in law just had her first baby and it is a girl so I wanted to make a few girly baby things for her.

Inspired by this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=341523.0 I think partially because the baby was so freakin adorable...
I went to Target and got a package of onsies and headed off to the craft store to find some cute matching fabrics for the skirts.

The first one I made exactly as the tutorial said.

I didn't love how it ended up looking, so I modified the last 2 skirts to be just pull on/off. Here they are paired with the rest of the onsies that I didn't destroy in the process of trying a new way... lol

This one ended up being my favorite Smiley

And I made these 2 headbands with some scraps

Then I decided to make a baby sling for mom with this tutorial http://www.handmade-adelaide-baby.com/free-baby-sling-pattern.html sorry this isn't the best picture but you can at least see the fabric

I hope they like everything. Maybe I can get some action shots once they get everything Smiley

yay. I got my package today.  My sister in law went into labor last night but I didn't know until I was already at work, as soon as I got someone to cover my shift raced home and as I was getting ready to head out the door to the hospital I saw my package! well. the baby isnt going anywhere....and well my package probably isn't either. but I had to see what was inside and I HAD to take pictures for all your viewing pleasures!!! lol

So here is what was in the box, everything all wrapped nice and pretty so I couldn't see what each item was. and a bunch of packing peanuts so everything was safe...but there was 1 packing peanut that was really slim and long...and for a minute I thought Lady4feet sent me a tampon. hahaha. so I added it in my pic because I got a kick out of it.

Excitedly I ripped open the first tissue and pulled out the awesome purple crochet flower necklace!!! and it doubles as a bracelet!! I realized I forgot to read the letter and I started reading and saw "zombies" and was like ohhhhh yay!!! so I quickly ripped through everything else to find my zombie. I found 2 bird broaches one purple one green, perfect since my last name is BIRD. haha. Inside the little box were 2 necklaces made from resin and a set of matching earrings. And my absolute favorite my little zombie cross stitch Smiley I love him, I actually had to look through my wist because I thought she bought him, but he is slightly different.

She did an awesome job replicating my zombie and tweaking the other things to fit my style. I really love everything!! Thank you so much!!!

sorry the pictures are wonky, I'll try to get some better ones tomorrow.
