21  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Mrs. Darcy KAL on: May 15, 2007 04:08:53 PM
Rain, the dusty rose color is so pretty! I too like the extra button modification.  Congratulations on finishing!!

Peps, I haven't found any buttons either. I think I want some (leather?) ones like Indieknitter's.

I finished knitting the 2nd sleeve on Monday and hopefully can get it attached tonight.

Try Knitntyme.com in Canada. I've never ordered from them but I know others have.  Looks like they carry a lot of Phildar.
23  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Knit & Tonic's Flair anyone? on: May 14, 2007 07:47:46 PM
It looks veddy nice! I'm sure it'll be the perfect cotton top layer for spring. I really love the elegant line of a swing coat/jacket.

Looking good so far!  Smiley  Are those bamboo (my favorite) or a type of wood needles?

I'm thinking about the Rowan wool/cotton blend which is merino and cotton and feels super soft. . . .

I think the pattern would just need to be adjusted some. I am a 34B and my sweater may end being too small, unless it "loosens" up some through blocking.

I attached my one (1) finished sleeve to the body last night and seamed the sleeve side. Does anyone else hate that part of finishing as much? Sad  Now, I need to actually knit the other sleeve. . . .

Your Sahara is quite lovely and it looks like an absolutely perfect fit! I really like the placket on that pattern. Great job! (And the "bird under the overhang" comment is  Cheesy)

Peps, you're a riot!! Hee hee, the picture is classic. The sweater color looks gorgeous, especially with the blue clothing and your red hair.  Thanks for posting it  Cheesy

(And, yes, I do drink and knit, unfortunately. . . . I have found that single malt scotches go well only with stockinette.)

Alas, Peps!!  Sad But your wry writing has me laughing. I think you should take a glamorous picture of yourself wearing it and post it in the Stitch and Botch section.  Cheesy

I haven't started on the second sleeve yet. But I did seam both of the teeny shoulder edges together last night. And I pinned the sides together to try it on. Sizewise, dunno, dunno. . . . Maybe if I cut back on my beer intake. I'll try to finish it this weekend.

Aww,  Sad  But like you said, it's a nice, quick knit and you can knit the redux exactly the way you want. It's too lovely a pattern not to give it another go! I'm glad the hand dyed color came out the way you wanted.

I alternate between thinking mine will either be too big/long or too small because that's my own personal luck with sweaters. My last creation grew after washing also.

Peps, I keep wrapping the unseamed sleeve around each arm and hoping Cheesy

No, not yet.  But I think that the bikini on the front is really groovy too.

Looks like there's some errata posted for Zelda.

RYC Luxury Cotton in Pagoda looks really yummy!! I looked for a yarn a while ago but didn't get anything. I'm thinking maybe soy or bamboo. . . .
